Mysterious Device Now With November 23 Launch date

Oh and one more thing...I don't see the Merge being quite the big seller (considering the Droid2 Global just launched with a 1.2ghz processor) where as the DINC only has the binged fascinate and the Motoblured DX to go up against. Verizon seriously needs a high end touch screen device for Christmas - and I just can't see them not releasing this now.

Another thing to think about is the Droid2 Global would represent serious competition for the Merge - where as the DINC HD would for the most part be without any new competition at Verizon. WHo knows, maybe HTC has been trying to decide what phone they wanted to push back for the LTE route.

But didn't they (VZW) give away some Merge devices a weeks or so ago? So some did get produced with 3G radios. Who knows. All this speculation is crazy.

Again - I hope Miami can clear some things up for us.

No there was a contest in San Francisco where the flyers stated that the device that would be given away would be the Merge, but then VZW changed its tune and gave away DINCs instead.

Here is my chat with the Verizon rep online:
Kevin: I was told that the HTC Droid Inredible HD would be available for Pre-order on friday
Kevin: is this true?
Joanna: I have not been told anything about the Incredible HD- this is the first time I have heard of it. :)
Kevin: haha ok
Kevin: if it were to be out on friday
Kevin: I'm assuming I can only order on the website?
Kevin: for a pre-order
Joanna: If it is pre-order, yes, only web site.
Kevin: awesome
Kevin: Joanna you were a huge help
Kevin: thank you so much

I think that smiley face is a HUGE indicator that something is coming on Friday. Take it for what its worth but she was playing dumb with me I believe. I'll be ordering this bad boy first things Friday.

She would probably do one of these if that were the case: ;)

The rep said "no", but the questions were done in way to support the assumption the device will preorder- without the rep saying anything to do with "yes". Are you one of those people that prep people in class action lawsuits? ;)

A area/market manager said she knew nothing and pointed out they are part of the team of operations that would execute such an event. Will you folks at least start wondering if no news tomorrow :)

I am done now. This place will be too sad on Friday.

I am already beginning to wonder. You know I have noticed a trend. It seems that as things get close to one of VZW/Miami's intended release dates (for the pics/specs) people (including me) get worried that the deadline is approaching and we haven't heard anything. Then as in the past - every deadline has come and gone with nothing...no news from MIAMI and nothing released to any other forum. Then after a day or so...Miami comes back and tells us all that he has heard from his VZW folks and we get a new deadline...and so the cycle continues. Yet - nothing ever happens. We get worked up over the new deadline meanwhile weeks have passed and nothing has materialized - not anything at all. This past weekend Miami stated that we would have something by Monday night at the earliest but most likely Tuesday or Wednesday...last night as his window was closing he tells us that the pre-orders start on Friday...but no promise for information or any indication that we will get anything today. So there you have it - instead of a promise of pics/specs we get a promise of a release date.

I seriously think that all HTC/VZW is doing is trying to build interest and keep people engaged long enough for an announcement mid to late December that the device is going LTE. If Friday comes and goes with nothing out there...then I think this was all a big game.

HTC Incredible HD full specs - Phone Arena

stopped reading after i read 1 GHZ processor, they have no source for their info obviously and just pulled it from multiple sources on the net..

Well if this all turns out to be some sort of clever ruse, I am going to try to find an Incredible cheap somewhere to hold me over. Because I can't handle my Eris for too much longer.

You are seeing through the fog. Imagine I'm a company that provides a service and I'm competing against other companies that provide the same service. Some of my customers want to change because the other companies are selling a newer "better" version of what I've got. What do I do, I have one of my employees (Miami's rep) tell a great customer with impeccable credentials (Miami) that something better is coming "soon". I do this for couple of weeks and then finally give a firm release date with no intention of it being true. There are no consequences because most of my customers aren't going to switch because now they're too invested in the idea of this new product and what could be coming "soon", and the customers who didn't know about it in the first place still don't know about it. What is going on here is a prime example of corporate politics/strategy. VZW doesn't care about android/iphone/bb they care about $$$$$$ and implement whatever is necessary to make more of it.
