Hello All,

Just wanted to say Hi to a group I've been following for a little over a week.

I'm currently a non-droid owner. My upgrade is due in January and I cannot wait to wrap my hands and mind around the possibilities of a new android handset. :) I would have become a droid owner much sooner, but an ex-girlfriend entered us into a new two year with a BlackBerry almost two years ago and I feel like I deserve a new every two!

Nice to meet you all!

Miami sorry if you have answered this, wondering, has this phone impressed you enough that you are going to get it? Did it instantly wow you?

Actaully my first comments were " I should mug the HTC guy and take his" (in a kidding manner of course) it was very nice and yes this will be my next device

hey just curious, 2 questions. Is there a time for this conference call Miami? And when its over will you post an update even if its saying "cant say anything today"?

Good luck tonight!

Deviant

yes and yes....around 9 eastern and as soon as i can if i get anything new or permissions to finally drop my info....

Great!!! Here's hoping they let you post some information...even a few pics if not the entire bunch of them.

Has been any update as to whether this phone will be 3g only, or LTE-ready? I checked on vzw's web site and it said my zip code will be covered by the end of the year, so I might be a bit hesitant if it's 3g only. But that depends on how vzw ends up pricing lte, I guess. (Do we know anything about what that may be yet?)

3G for sure LTE is a no go..... on this device..that isnt to say an lte version couldn't show it's head later..

Now for all of you wantig LTE...think about the why since the "prmium" data comes with "tierd" data or could. Would it make that much idfference if you had to pay higher rates? for me 3G is fine I have no issues with what I get now

Gotta agree with you there Miami. 3G does fine for me. Even though I am in one of the markets that LTE will hit first, I am not that excited about it. And I am even less excited about paying a premium for it.

Thanks for all the good info Miami.

See what you can do tonight. Hopefully something will get released. I am fine with 3G - just give it a kick ass processor and high end GPU. I would take a fast/smooth 3G device over a new buggy LTE device that is untested. The fact that HTC has essentially been making this phone in various forms for a while now gives me confidence in the quality.

Two things at play there. I wouldn't break a friends trust just to be "first"!

Second is i won't burn a contact over it ever. Anyone familiar with VZW inside knows it could cause someone to lose a job. Never happen with me. That's why they talk with me each week

Completely agree. With the exception of maybe video conferencing (which really is not even used much at this point-- and more of a "want"), and some flash browsing (slightly is overrated a bit), 3G works great. The Speed & Memory of the phone I believe make more of a difference. You do a lot on the device that does not always require massive data speed.

The intangibles like the display (size, resolution, technology, etc), Front Facing Camera, Regular Camera abilities, etc. is what makes a solid phone.

Yes it makes a huge difference. Use a G2 and then any VZW device, youtube alone makes it worth it...

PSphone would suck for internet play over 3g, it would be awesome on LTE or 3g+....

Also, I don't think the data rates will be any more. I assume that it'll be the same price that 3g is now, and 3g "smartphone" plans will drop to the price of feature phone data plans.

Sprint charges a premium for 4G and extra $10 a month...

I am guessing VZW will raise it (even if only $10) some, now I could be wrong

Well, I suppose it depends on how you use your phone. I have no interest in most games, or online gaming, or tethering for gaming, or Youtube (which does work perfectly over my 3G phone 99% of the time.

I use my phone more as an information gathering device, life organizer. For my needs, 3G will do. Now don't get me wrong, when my area gets 3G (not for a while I believe), and I am holding a DINC HD and have yet another upgrade, I will look. But I don't view it as a deal breaker. Besides, it is still new, unproven technology, possibly a battery drain, and I believe will be more $$$.

Miami, can you please let the VZW people on the call tonight know they have customers that are going to change carriers soon if they don't give us some info! I mean the only phones they have announced are low level devices. Us hardcore Android users (future Android user for me) need something better than a freakin Motorola Citrus. I'm on VZW month to month and I'm really close to switching this week if we cant get anything.

So 10 dollars a month will keep you using a much slower internet connection? Using dial-up at home would save you even more!

If you spend that extra 10 dollars on 4g and then 20 on wifi ap, you ger super fast home internet for cheaper than you pay now, and super fast internet on your phone....

30 bucks extra saves you 50 off of your home service, that ends up saving you money....
