Mysterious Device Now With November 23 Launch date

From a purely operational standpoint, I'd guess VZW wouldn't want to deal with multiple phones launching in the same time frame. They'll get a crush of customers switching from AT&T for the IPhone so I'd expect a few weeks before another major release. Not sure of the timing of all these phones (and I don't think anyone is).

"Now a Verizon internal training memo has been circulating around the internet describing an “iconic device” that will be available for pre order on Nov. 9th. The memo also indicates that that this device will be in very high demand."

Really? Droid Pro is "iconic". High demand......I will need to see it to believe it. Now if this was the Inc HD I would agree!!!

The "iconic" phrasing seem to be asscoiated with the Driod Pro.

That is correct. The Droid Pro has been referred to by VZW as "iconic" and it launches soon.

With all these phones and delays I am begining to wonder if we will in fact see this HTC DINC HD this year. If it doesn't launch this month...I am leaving VZW and moving onto something else.

And it sure would be nice if Miami would release some more information...here another week has practically passed and still nothing. These VZW people are really pissing me off. Miami is doing the right thing by honoring their request for silence...but the VZW people are being ridiculous about this. Let the controlled "leak" out already!!!

Patience. I am positive you'll have all your questions answered soon.

We will be watchin the ball drop wondering where the last 8 weeks went and enjoying our new Inc HD. I can't figure out what happened to October. 14 days or so shouldn't be too bad.

I called verizon a few minutes ago to check on when I am eligible for my 1 year early upgrade (11/18) and they did mention that there were phones still coming out this year that had not been announced yet and 1 was being described as "iconic" guessing this is what they were alluding to. Time will tell.

I did hear that the Droid Pro will be the last "droid" of 2010. But im still holding on till the end of this month. if no word of the Dinc HD, i'll pick up the dx dec 1st. Look at it this way, HTC will be stupid to let verizon release the phone next year due the high demand of the iPhone and LTE ready devices. It has to come out sooner than later.

Does the Inc HD really fit that bill? "Iconic" implies a brand that's been around for awhile, or a new device that sets new standards can instantly be "Iconic". The only items I can think of being worthy of that are the IPhone and an LTE Droid (which isn't supposed to be out until May or so).

Also not sure of this huge demand for the Inc HD. There's a lot of people on this forum saving their upgrade for an LTE phone next year.

The Pro will probably be very popular with people migrating from BB devices who just can't give up the form factor & key board.

I think you're right about the "iconic" phone. Just read this.

Verizon Announcing the iPhone on Nov. 9th?-TechnoBuffalo

Interesting. I just question the source and veracity of VZW "doubling call center personnel" and "especially in the number porting division". The latter makes sense with the IPhone, but not sure why the IPhone would require a doubling of call center personnel.

Although, perhaps the two aren't totally related. It occurs to me LTE is launching for laptop cards so maybe that is why the need for doubling call center people. Still seems excessive.

Yeah, I don't know where they got the info about Verizon "doubling call personnel" and the number porting division also, but if that is true.... I just can't see the Droid Pro being a phone that they expect to bring in such a high demand that they need to add such a significant amount of people in the number porting division. The Droid Pro just doesn't seem to be the type of phone that's going to make a lot of people port their numbers to Verizon. At least not more than any other phone that they carry now. Keeping my fingers crossed there's more to this...

Not to mention, a huge chunk of BB users have it through a corporation. I don't see companies rushing to switch carriers, or switch to Droid, overnight. And a lot of those BB's are already on VZW so there would be no need to port numbers. Nor will companies pay contract termination fees.

I think the IPhone will eventually come to VZW. But it seems like maybe there is some subterfuge going on where Apple may be the source of leaks/disinformation in an effort to keep potential buyers waiting for the "IPhone just around the corner". If they announced the IPhone was coming in March a good number of people waiting patiently since the summer when rumors really started ramping up might have just decided to pull the trigger on an Android phone.

I dont know about everyone else but I use about 5G/month on 3G without tethering. From what I hear LTE will be tiered and will not have an unlimited option. I for one am not looking to spend a whole lot more money when I am prefectly happy with the speed I am currently receiving. Of course like everything else this is speculation and I don't think anyone knows concrete details on LTE pricing yet. For me though.....if my bill is going to go up substantially I would rather get the best 3G phone and plan to stay there as long as I can.

the thing about vzn is they will say what they want implanted in your head.. to us that know better its not iconic, to the average joe they can say that and they will believe vzn.. which amounts to better sales from less tech savy people (which is the majority)

its not a bad phone just not good enough to really be considered ionic.. but most people wont argue cause they have no idea if it is or not they will take their word for it! lol

I believe this was reported on both CNET and Appleinsider. But it's all speculation that it's for the iPhone launch.
