While the wait continues I just got word that LTE devices will be coming Q1 2011. Not to worry if LTE is not in your area at that time. Simply pop in the LTE SIM when your in a 4G area and you are good to go.
Verizon LTE will have SIM cards? I thought I read somewhere that they wouldn't. (in other words, would be like their current phones: they have 'SIM' cards per se...they are just perm installed on the system board)

I was also under the impression that you wouldn't have to put in a SIM card. I thought it would default to 3G if no LTE service available (doesn't it do that now with edge and 3G?)

Anyway, I should get a 1-yr early upgrade in February...Perfect timing! dancedroiddancedroiddancedroid

Now that I think about it. I'm pretty sure the DC area is going to get LTE. I wonder if I should just pass this up and wait for an LTE supported handset.

Do you mean handsets in Q1?

And to go back-and-forth between LTE and 3G I need to swap sim cards? I don't like the sound of that...Although, I suppose it's technically difficult for the phone to use LTE if available and 3G if not. That way they get us to upgrade to 2nd gen a few months later.

I can't imagine anyone actually knows since LTE isn't availalbe yet on a phone.

I could see it being somewhat similar to 4g on sprint? 3g is always on and you can use a widget to toggle 4g on/off?

I can not wait to get this phone.........Been watching videos on the Desire HD and stopped by Sprint and played with an EVO. If the Eris is an example of the Hero, the imagine how much sweeter the DINc HD will be than the EVO.....I hope they go away from the red accents and use silver and black look.

This thread is going to be nine hundred and fifty five pages by the time the phone actually gets released.

On a side note, looks like my 4th replacement S2 just landed at my house. woohoo...
