New Apps from 2.1

I see. An instance of the old music app had to be killed before the new one can be launched. Really not a big, if any, improvement in the new music app. :(

BTW, the Launcher2 apk fails when parsing the installation package on my droid. Is this isolated to me or anybody else getting this too?

i heard a lot of those crashes. the only guess they all made was trying it WITH root.

But its a risk you gotta take yourself -.- ...i will mark that in the first post!

personally i havent too much of an issue with the launcher force closing, only once or twice buy the biggest problem was that it was using so much of the phone memory, for me it was using between 30-40mb, taskmanager would say 70mb free with it running and 110mb without it, this meant that when you would use the browser and stuff it would drop down to 20-30mb and start closing out apps that you were using, it was just too much of a resource hog to be worth while for me

Yea, that sucks. I was looking forward to the launcher most. May root later if feeling frisky enough. Thanks OP.

FYI, installing the 2.1 Launcher (Launcher2.apk) doesn't require root, installs like any 3rd party app. I have had excellent results with the original installable version, but some have had a lot of force closes. Matt has figured out this problem and will be releasing a new version (1.2) today or tomorrow that will be even faster and more stable.
