I did the manual update and mine still has the verizon tab on the right.

The market scrolling is really great BTW, I don't get how the browser is so bad

Forgive me but what is a rogue app? I dont have many apps on my phone at all.

I would think just an app that's might not be compatible yet with the Droid, hence it gives it problems like the ones you described. Like they've said, if you've had to do many batt pulls, you need to get your device replaced. Either that, or uninstall everything, and install one by one till you find the culprit app.

If you got the OTA update (not a manual update), does the top right tab in the Market App still say "Verizon" and take you to apps suggested by VZ?

Or

Does it now say "Downloads" and take you to your downloaded apps?

I did a manual update, and no longer have the Verizon tab. So Iu am wondering if there is a difference between the OTA update and the manual update.

Its being discussed by many. I never bad a Verizon tab. Mines always said download.

Please try to understand that there is only one version of this update. The method of install does not change anything in regards to the actual update.

It's dd, mine just changed to say Verizon and work as before. I'm guessing those tabs aren't fixed in the App, but their function pushed to the phone when it's run.

My Verizon tab has also changed to Downloads. No biggie. Everything seems to be OK so far.

I forced my update a couple of hours ago. It was very easy and I have not faced any of the problems that are being quoted in this forum. Some of the things I have noticed was the lock screen and the call answer screens have changed a little. Everything is quicker. I never had any issues with my camera so I cant comment on the auto-focus but i did notice the time in between taking pics is a little quicker. The sound quality of my calls are better and I was told that the person on the other end could hear me a lot clearer. I talk to the same person at the same time every night so that is pretty big. Thats all Ive notice in the little time tonight that I was on it but I will update if I find more..

I have read alot of people that say they love the GPS on the Droid. I and many others are very frustrated because it lacks one feature that all GPS have in common except for the Droid's. The problem I am talking about is being able to save your current location or add waypoints. I also have a Garmin Nuvi but Droid doesn't come close to it if you can't save locations. This would be a real simple fix, simply touch your current location and have it bring up a screen asking if you would like to save your current location. From there all you would need to add is a folder to save your favorites in. Until then I have to rely on my Garmin.
I just click on my screen and when you see "Add to Home Screen", select Shortcuts then Directions, and you can put in your starting point and save it. Very easy to do and another strike against your Nuvi.

or you could add the address to a contact and you could then navigate from contacts or type in your contacts name in the destination in maps and then navigate. i like this more than a separate favorites in map.

it would be nice tough if i could click on the map and save a location(fishing spot) so i could find it easily again. only an issue if you dont have a physical address.

I updated to the new firmware and it went well. But now I try to go to my gallery and it says "application is not installed on your phone". I did put in another SD card and it gave me the same notification. Any suggestions? thank you.

delete the shortcut from your screen, then open gallery in applications, andthen put the shortcut back to your screen. it should work now.

The new terrain maps could come in handy for hikers, except you need a cell tower! Once we have a gps only option, this will not be viable.

I did my update earlier today. Everything seemed quicker. No problems at all. A few hours later I looked at my contacts and I had lost about 95% of them. Weird thing is that if I create a new contact and use the exact same name as I had before I lost my contacts the contact shows up as if nothing happened. So for example if I had a "john smith" before my contacts got erased and "john smith" was one of the contacts that disappeared, I would now(after the update) add a new contact named "john smith" and save only the name, the contact would appear as if it never disappeared. Very weird. Anyone experience this? Anyone have a solution?

my droid seems to get glitchy when i go to answer the phone, the slider is not smooth and i endup hanging up on people, it was like this with 2.0 and is still like this with 2.0.1.

the other thing i noticed is that when i chose to call a contact from the sms screen it dailed someone other than the person i was sending texts with.

Has anyone noticed a huge improvement in sound quality when playing music? Before the update, my headphones would crackle like a blown speaker. Now it's a pleasure! Thank you google!!!
