I may be psyching my self out.. but anything related to the internet seems faster.... even on 3g.

Seems like it for me! After the update it seemed fine.
But I just now rebooted it, everythings SOO much faster!! It's like a new phone!
I didn't know I could have so much passion for this phone :icon_ banana:

I updated to the new firmware and it went well. But now I try to go to my gallery and it says "application is not installed on your phone". I did put in another SD card and it gave me the same notification. Any suggestions? thank you.

So far, my observations on the 2.0.1 OS...

From my normal usage since pushing it manually before 10:00 AM PST time, the time is now 4:11 PM PST, it showed up as being 100% charged since the boot up, 90% and been doing some on and off things. I would say the battery life has improved a fair deal because right about this time, I should be about 70% or so normally.

Did notice the Verizon part is not showing in the market, but I do see the Download tab, so I presume the Verizon branding just overwrote the Market's normal download section where the download should be the apps you downloaded.

I have not tried anything else, but so far, seems to be a good build for what I do.

It might be the shortcut on your homescreen is no longer linked to the correct app. I suppose Gallery was updated in the OS, which means, your shortcut is not working properly. Go through your normal app screen and call up gallery and it should work.

I feel like a dummie. Thanks, I really appreciate it. This forum is unbelievable. I think some of the VZW techs should read this, they may learn something. Once again, thank you.

Delete that gallery shortcut and make you a new one. the new gallery pathway is slightly different so it won't see the old one...

When you get the new shortcut on the screen, notice the grey around the edges?..
I don't think the old one had that.... I had one other app I had to do that to also.

Things I have noticed after 24 hours (manual update):

Voice calls via bluetooth to my Pioneer AVIC-D3 still dont work well. It worked at first then after a few hours it connects, but no sound comes through and the phone then does a hard reset. Battery pulls have not fixed the problem.

Wi-Fi seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

Going from screen to screen was nice and fast right after the update, now its back to how it was before, a little "jittery" at times.

Opening up my sms app seems to lag. I touch the app icon and it takes a second or two to open.

Voice call quality seems to have improved, but its not what it should be.

The drag down bar at the top is fast, much better than before.

Overall I am dissapointed with this update. I have done a few battery pulls to try to speed the phone up and nothing seems to work. I hope another update will follow soon.

Sorry to hear that... didn't have any of the problems prior to the update and now everything is still running well and even smoother :)
3g browsing speed seems to be faster for me noticeably. !!! :icon_ banana:

update seems great to me my browser is as fast as ever but it does act funny while charging....anyone else have that problem?
The issue about acting funny while charging - if you are referring to the virtual keyboard while plugged in and trying to text and getting multiple characters when you tap, is NOT related to the 2.0.1 update. It has been happening with me for the past 3 weeks when I got my Droid. I simply just unplug it when I need to text then plug it back in. I've often thought about maybe its because I'm using my old Blackberry Storm charger. Are you doing the same?

I knew this would happen - any quirk will now be because of the latest upgrade when it's not.

Gps

I have read alot of people that say they love the GPS on the Droid. I and many others are very frustrated because it lacks one feature that all GPS have in common except for the Droid's. The problem I am talking about is being able to save your current location or add waypoints. I also have a Garmin Nuvi but Droid doesn't come close to it if you can't save locations. This would be a real simple fix, simply touch your current location and have it bring up a screen asking if you would like to save your current location. From there all you would need to add is a folder to save your favorites in. Until then I have to rely on my Garmin.

scrolling on the internet isn't as smooth as it was previously. Has anybody had the internet lock up on them? Happened to me, maybe just a freak occurrence.

Typing seems much better.

I just click on my screen and when you see "Add to Home Screen", select Shortcuts then Directions, and you can put in your starting point and save it. Very easy to do and another strike against your Nuvi.

I know you can add your starting point but what I am saying is save a running list of all your favorites and current locations

Browser scrolling is choppier, like 5~10 fps lost (does fps even apply here?)
Anyway I compared my 2.0.1 and wife's 2.0.0 using the same browser side-by-side, the difference in fluidity is there, especially on long pages with a lot of vertical scrolling.

It's a minor setback but other enhancements makes up for it.

IMHO, If you are having to do battery pulls at all you either need to get the roque apps off that are causing it, or get a replacement phone.

I have never had a force reboot, or had to do a battery pull yet in the 2 weeks I have owned my Droid.
