Does the update move the uper notification bar down a little? I have a hard time opening it up at times.
Yes, and disconnects the Google Search widget from the top of the screen, so it is easier to pull down the notification bar. You can also now move or remove the Google Search bar as it acts like every other widget now.

No difference from the 2.0
The google search bar has always been "movable" just as the rest of the widgets

You guys DO realize the Google Search Widget is redundant. The Magnifying glass button on your button bar does EXACTLY the same thing as the widget WITHOUT taking up home screen space.

Has anyone noticed a huge improvement in sound quality when playing music? Before the update, my headphones would crackle like a blown speaker. Now it's a pleasure! Thank you google!!!

I got my update this morning and I've also noticed the clipping/distortion is gone. Awesome!

Still waiting for my update. Has anyone noticed any improvement in the sound? Specifically crackling static on your end and echoing on the other end? My echoing is so bad that I will have to think about another phone if it hasn't been addressed. I am on Droid 3 and each one has this problem.

Not sure about the echoing. I still have never heard it, but have read others who say they have. I do believe it has been addressed in the coming update. Also you don't have to wait. The zip file is available here and you can do it manually

heres a quick video of the delayed screen response time in 2.0.1 on my phone (on the right) and my sisters 2.0 phone (on the left). The response is definitely slower on MY 2.0.1 droid. This was after a fresh reboot of each phone, so just the basic apps should be running

and yeah its short :o
you can also see the screen start dim and turn brighter. It is annoying (cuz im used to my iphone which was instant). Im not sure why the response is so much longer on my phone.

The static is gone and my wife says that I sound much better than I did a couple of days ago. Also the bluetooth audio works in my 2010 SRX which it didn't before the update (couldn't use pandora or play any movies in the car using the car audio).

I have read alot of people that say they love the GPS on the Droid. I and many others are very frustrated because it lacks one feature that all GPS have in common except for the Droid's. The problem I am talking about is being able to save your current location or add waypoints. I also have a Garmin Nuvi but Droid doesn't come close to it if you can't save locations. This would be a real simple fix, simply touch your current location and have it bring up a screen asking if you would like to save your current location. From there all you would need to add is a folder to save your favorites in. Until then I have to rely on my Garmin.

Im totally with you on this one. Even VZ Navigator has the option to save locations. i.e. I have HOME saved so whenever I am "lost" or want to get to my house from X location, all I had to do is click HOME and it took me there. Now, I have to navigate to a contact with my home address saved (had to add a contact with my info)
You guys do realize that Google Navigation is in beta and not a final release version right? Complaining at this point is like complaining you have issues after taking a car from the factory before it's done being built. Yeah the car might start and drive, but your seatbelts and/or radio might not be installed. Wait till the app is in a release version before complaining about it's lack of features. Not saying they'll add what you're saying is missing but be patient and thankful Google was nice enough to release it in an unfinished state.

I just had my update this am and notice on my texting and email screens that the windows open much faster to the process there has sped up for sure...I also noticed that the unlock button up front is no longer a rainbow or arc but rather straight on now....which is a little easier. Great stuff...Still finding out many things.

lol, what a fail of a video :icon_ devil:
sorry

edit: on yours, auto-brightness is enabled, so your device is waiting for the sensor the "correct" the brightness...

I'm still getting a glitch in my contacts... sometimes they disappear.. or some of them.

I have to go into display and pick a small group and uncheck "my contacts" and view the small group and then go back and retick the "my contacts" and is shows them all again.

I got an email in the middle of the night I tried to respond to and from handcent I could see no contacts at all... not until I went manually to my contacts and did that sequence that handcent could see them either.

I have about 450 contacts and last night.. only 360 we showing up in contacts and none in handcent until I did that sequence.

having an issue with handcent after the 2.0.1 update. my contact pictures from facebook aren't syncing anymore. has anyone else noticed this?

I'm having problems w/ the user pictures behind my conversations. They used to take up the whole screen now they are reduced to the center of the screen. I tried reselecting an image and re-cropping it but still an error in sizing behind my bubbles.

I think battery life has been better for me. I run Exchange email with push all day, and right now I'm at 1 day, 18 hours since charged and I'm at roughly 40% battery.

just received the update and I agree that the phone is snappier in general, but the scrolling in the browser is now much choppier. I really liked the butter smooth scrolling so here's hoping the next update brings that back. The bugfixes are more important overall, so I'm glad for the update, but my personal usage hasn't been improved because exchange/camera issues weren't important to me.

update seems great to me my browser is as fast as ever but it does act funny while charging....anyone else have that problem?
The issue about acting funny while charging - if you are referring to the virtual keyboard while plugged in and trying to text and getting multiple characters when you tap, is NOT related to the 2.0.1 update. It has been happening with me for the past 3 weeks when I got my Droid. I simply just unplug it when I need to text then plug it back in. I've often thought about maybe its because I'm using my old Blackberry Storm charger. Are you doing the same?

I knew this would happen - any quirk will now be because of the latest upgrade when it's not.
It's the charger. Mine did that with a generic charger I bought on ebay. See http://www.droidforums.net/forum/te...suggestions/5572-touchscreen-sensitivity.html
