New ICS leak 6.7.235

The House of Bionic thread has been updated to 3.0 which supports 238. Those on 235 that wanna go to it, they will need to use the REINSTALL 238 option, and they should NOT skip steps (except root which is optional) on the second menu.

Sam, I'm having trouble downloading HOB 3.0, not sure if anyone else has or not. Could be Symantec? Something blocking it and this hasn't happened before with any of your previous versions. Looks like the file is 1.1GB.I have 4shared acct..not sure if that matters.Thoughts?

I assure you it's a false positive with your AV. I've seen some people having problems with symantec and the 238 update which is embedded in the 3.0 installer. You'll either have to temporarily disable symantec to allow it or make an exception rule.

Hollywood, I am having the same issue. I disabled the firewall and virus protection (LOTS of trust Samurai!!) and am using Firefox for the download. That combination worked on my laptop last night but the RSDLite would not find my phone. The RSDLite on my desktop found my phone so I am re-downloading the files and trying again after a full battery charge and a good nights sleep! :biggrin:

I will point out to you guys that are having trouble with the script what i pointed out to someone on droidhive. Automation is great....until it's not. If you read my OP you will see in the "what it is not" section that it is NOT a replacement for knowing what's happening under the covers. Too many people see how easy the HoB makes things and don't bother to learn WHAT it's doing. I bring this up for a reason.....if you knew what the HoB was doing, you'd get to the point of step 3, and then you would manually open RSD, open the script that you need from the rsd_scripts directory, run it, kill RSD when it errors out, shut off the phone, and continue to step 4. My point is, automation MUST NOT replace actual knowledge of what's going on with your phone.

I think I got a little preachy in my followup post in the HoB thread, but, I really do wish people would take some time to learn what's going on.

Had my first puter 30 yrs ago. Tore it up just to see how it worked have built my own since.

There is a huge learning curve here that many of us are trying to keep up with. I take the time to read as much as I can! I try to keep up with all of the terminology that is used on this and other forums. Those of us, like me, that are not in the IT industry can't possibly have the same amount of knowledge. Does that mean we are not welcomed into this community? Many people come here to learn, explore, expand their knowledge and have fun. I am sure I speak for some others that are afraid to post certain questions, because they see how others get blasted for not phrasing something right or not coming in with enough knowledge.

Sam, I understand your point. I am relatively new to flashing and updating my phone but I started using computers when all there was was dos so I am comfortable with your script. I tried to flash the upgrade using the script and also manually. My biggest problem was that the RSDLite program was not finding my phone (still not sure why). Had that not happened, I would be a full up round with the phone and ICS 238. Now that the phone is talking to RSDLite, everything is moving along nicely. While not a programmer, I feel pretty good about understanding what is going on in the script. I also know enough to appreciate everything that you have done for us. I would be less likely to reach as far as I have without your help. Thank you!

@Hollywood67

That's not what I'm saying AT ALL. I'm saying that people need to take the time to read and learn as much as they can. I've read tons of "it didn't work" posts for the HoB. How many posts have asked me "hey, mind sharing a little bit of how it works?" NOT ONE. :) And guess what, I'd be more than happy to educate people on what's going on. But NO ONE has ever asked me to share that. They want to push the button and have it work. That's great for those times when all the stars are aligned and it simply works. I hope that's the case 100% of the time. But when it's not, I have very simple requirements. I want people to have read the directions, followed ALL the steps without "assuming that step didn't apply cause I didn't read and just figured I'd wing it", and can provide me with enough information to help them. That really isn't so bad is it? I still would love it if people would take the time to learn what the scripts are doing, but, that's up to them. I have no complaints with you as a user, btw. You've done all I ask. My post wasn't to complain about the users...more to open people's eyes to what they're doing to their phones so that they TRULY understand the risks involved.

This right here is what makes me SO happy. Thank you!

RSDLite played nicely and I am now the proud owner of 238! All seems well! Thanks Samurai!

BTW. Didn't start tearing computers apart until my second one so I guess I am behind the power curve. With 5 kids, I never had the time to "tinker" with software. Now I do!! :D

Mike 757 try using a temp machine with win xp on it for detecting yur phone. Worked for me when win7 wouldn't :(
