New tb owners!!!

I have a Droid X rooted and i've tried every rom available out there , i have an Xoom also , waiting for them to make the SD Card available so i can do some stuff with it . I know the Droid X is moto blur and from what i'm reading the Thunderbolt is Sense , what is the difference between the two Sense and Blur ?, are there more roms out there for sense ?, is it easier to root and make roms for Sense ? can someone explain because i would love to get one and i'm keeping my x too because i bought it full price . Thanks

Ive never really dealt with sense a lil here and there but not enough to get a feel for it. i have a droid 2 so i know the motoblur and it is not that bad has some useful stuff on the social networking end and calendar. but i think they are just both types of user interface that moto and HTC put on there devices.
So is the Thunderbolt different on the social side even tho it's sense because it comes with Social Network integrated ?.

well i will find out today when i get my bolt how different it is. they have different widgets and different options from what ive read. i dont really want to give you a comparison that someone can fire back on and create an argument sorry i couldnt be more helpful.

It's not rather its sense or blur, its rather the bootloader is locked/encrypted. The X is locked down hard core, so the ROM development and selection is poor. All of the new Moto phones are the same. HTC has been known to be less stringent on this and that allows for dev's to go wild.

XDA achieved Perm root last night! they are working on recovery. so hopefully soon we will be able to remove all the bloatware. and hey if you dont like sense ui you can always use ADW or LPP

My TB didn't like me using ADW last night. I kept getting freezing and Force Closings. So I'm giving Sense UI another few more days.

I never used Motoblur, but I absolutely LOVE HTC Sense, it allows me to do so much more with my phone then I ever could have with my D1.

Not to bother you but could you explain do more ?
For instance I find HTC Sense to have a much better looking and functional social network integration, they have widgets that incorporate facebook and twitter, they have widgets that combines pcontacts such as your favorites on a home screen, with their latest activity next to them. They have 60+ widgets of their own that look and work very well.

The only thing I don't really like is the built in apps I will never use.

When you picked the TB up... What are they
saying about 4G data prices if 4 lts comes to our area will the data price increase?
Thanks.
Currently if you buy a TB you need to pay $30 per month for an unlimited 4G data plan. Since you are locked into a 1/2 year contract you will not need to pay any more for 4G until your contract expires. There is talk that this summer Verizon will go to tiered data pricing, and possibly a premium for 4G.

It doesn't matter if your area has 4G or not currently.

Thanks.
So if you sign up for one or two years contract it will
be $30 a month until the contract ends.

Love the phone. Love the speed. 4G makes so many things work better that I never expected. Apps update from the market in seconds, and NewsRob is actually usefull for may massive Google Reader.

Yup, as long as Verizon doesn't try to wiggle out of the contracts somehow, which I highly doubt.

Ok so I have a couple questions.. First off I was using the Friend Stream thing but I also downloaded facebook for android and twitter for android.. Did the phone already come with a facebook and twitter.. Becuase now I see it say facebook for htc sense and twitter for htc sense as well as the ones I downloaded.. Help me out here.. Also do any of you use the app killer? If so do you turn off killing facebook so you still are able to get notifications or no? Im new to droids..

This is an amazing phone, was the first in my BB to get it, and haven't put it down since lol.
Of course, this is also my first android phone, so yeah.

The battery, is kinda quickly draining on me though.
Anybody know of anyway to improve this?
Does having Wifi turn on use more or less battery?

So here we go.. new owners what you got?? I got my TB.. share your stories..

Got mine and can't put it down.. loving this thing.. only gripe off the top would be leak of light coming from bottom of screen.. however you can't see it unless you try and hold it at werid angels.. only shows when the screen is on full brightness.. Doesn't affect anything.. PHONE IS AWESOMe!! 4g rocks!!! Even my D1 flies using the wifi hotspot from the TB..

Is the light coming out the bottom normal?
Mine is doing that too, I thought I got a bad model or something xD

Also, I downloaded the advanced task killer.
Every time I use it, things like CityID and Slacker keep popping back up, I haven't even touched them.
Is that normal?
