New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

u better do it soon though. The last day they r even going to be able to add this plan for anyone is the last day of december. Just start service then call in saying that u apoke to someone previously who said u qualify for the promotion and was going to transfer u to the center of excellence department but they were closed at the time so npw ur calling back in to actually take advantage of the promotion. They r only open monday through froday just a heads up not to wait till the weekend cause it will be too late wih the end of the month and all.

Oh and I should add they log the times you call in, and notate what information is exchanged. Not to mention, they record every call. Don't lie to us... We will often times know. Just tell them Sprint has a better deal and you want to switch.

Am i the only one who thinks this guys a dousche? It goes by both buddy and if u check in ur infomanager ull see that in the emails sent out to customers the department is labeled as coe or center of excellence. Yeah thats right as of last week i was a customer service agent just like u till i switched to in store sales. Just trying to be of some help to people but ur just lame. I know customer service sucks but dont go around being a bum everywhere u go. But yeah people u can phrase it however u want when i called the rep was able to comprehend center of excellence and get me over maybe its just too long of a title for this guy

Actually Customer Care cannot see the CRM for the particular promo.

Yes internally we know what COE is, but it always works in your favor not to talk like you are an insider exploiting inside info. I have personally seen hot remarks on peoples accounts that have called in trying to exploit things and talked like an insider.

Think I'm being a doom sayer? Fact is quickest way to get things done is to threaten to leave Verizon. Truth.

As I understand it, the $139.99 promotion is for two phones and all other lines are $19.99 each which includes data, meaning it would end up being a 'Family Smart Phone Package'.

We have 4 phones. One is a DX, the others are standard phones, so this would not be a good move for us if the goal were to save money. I have no interest in locking in 4 smart phones as it would cost a small fortune to get out of the contract if necessary. Currently only the DX is a Verizon purchased phone.

I love how you actually dodged like 90% of my response.

I am aware of what IM states regarding the promo. It also says in that article that Care has nothing to do with it, and therefore should direct all questions to the Loyalty Dept.

And something that I think I *should* reiterate is that I never said I was an agent in Care like you.

The discount works for any phone's
$29.99 data plan, so any phones that you have that you may want to use data on, it can get the $20 discount. I would advise this if you plan on getting more smartphones later aswell.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This promo does extend your contract out by a year to each line its applied. Keep that in mind.

I have called numerous times over the past 2 months trying to get this promotion. I have 5 lines on a family share plan and every time I called I was told I did not receive the email directly from them and there is nothing they can do.

I figure I'd try one more time since I read that the promotion is only on until Jan 31st. I called the 877.873.3278 number and again she asked me if I received a phone call, flyer in the mail or an email and I told her I received an email. She asked if it was a direct email, and I played dumb and just said I am really not sure, but received an email and read it to her. She said I am not listed as being in their target listing and cannot receive the discount unless I received it directly from them. She went on to say that many people are calling up since they found this number on blogs and forums and are trying to get the discount even though they are not eligible. I asked her then what other discounts would be available to me since I have 4 smart phones and one regular and 2 of my lines are about to come up for renewal in the next month or two. She then said "Well I could give you this discount" - just like that. I don't know what made her change her mind. She did say that the promotion is ending on Jan 31st and if I make any changes after the 31st, I will lose this promotion from all lines. This concerns me since I do have 2 upgrades coming in March, and would like to upgrade at least one of my phones to the iphone. In any case even if I don't upgrade to the iphone, one of the lines will be getting an upgrade from a BB Tour to a BB bold. I hope that she is wrong and I don't lose the promotion. I guess we will just have to wait and see. She did say if I wanted to convert the one line that is not a smart phone to a smart phone, I have to do it by the 31st to keep the promotion.

When I go online to my account I see all my lines now say

Would a change from a blackberry to an iphone or blackberry to droid be considered a change to a data feature since the blackberry data plan is different than the smartphone data plan? Also My one feature phone now has data on it, so would a switch from a feature phone to a droid be a data plan change if the feature phone already has a data plan on it?

As long as it is a $29.99 unlimited data feature. Change it to a limited feature, or to corporate data and you will lose it.

Sorry I need to clarify: as long as you are on a $29.99 unlimited data feature you are fine. Blackberry to iPhone to Android to feature phone.
