i read the article and they purposely keep it vague. that way they can change it when they want. its called monopoly by the justice dept. i think 103million customers should get pissed all at once if the try that crap. but they didnt give a straight answer in the article

just wanted to say thanks to all for this.
Moved mother in law to a full access droid from dumbphone with no features, added unlimited txt to other 2 droid lines that were paying for set amount of txts and saved $32 a month.

Last day to get unlimited....help for a friend please

I got the unlimited plan and suggested to my friend that she should.
She has 1(soon to be 2) smart phones and two more more phones on a 9.99(obsolete) data plan. They are telling her that she can't get the unlimited plan because she doesn't use the data on the other two plans. She had to get the data plan when she got the phones.....and doesn't want he kids to go over the data limit so she won't let them use it. Verizon has since phased out the 9.99 data plan. Any suggestions on how she can get unlimited. BTW, she can but something form Home Depot and return it to Lowe's:icon_eek:, so I think she can get it with some guidance!!!

Got the unlimited plan and smart phone.........HOWEVER

My first months bill was higher because they prorated my charges.........OMG???
My first bill was about $60 higher due to proration and charges one month in advance.
Please ask them to date the changes on your bill cycle date...or they will soak you for $$$ on the first bill!!!
Does anyone know how to get them to make the bill right???

They did the same thing to me. They also did not fully apply my corporate discount. I called them and they corrected the invoice.

I called this morning to try and get this plan but was told no. Unless i received an email with the offer i was not eligible for the deal plus it ended yesterday also. The lady i talked to was unwilling to offer it to me and said to just keep watching for any future offers, i was pretty annoyed!

Call again. After a few times, someone will give it to you. Make sure you say that you got an email for it

That is NOT the definition of a monopoly, not even close. VZW and AT&T having about the same number of customers (yes VZW has about 10% more), then when you add in Sprint and T-Mobile, plus the regional carriers, VZW in no way has a monopoly.

One could attempt to argue price fixing between the major carriers, but you better have some serious written proof of price fixing.

I called several times and was unable to get the plan until I (very nicely) mentioned that my family could no longer continue to go on without a family data plan like some of the other carriers had. I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for more than ten years and I was ready to pay the early termination fees to leave (I only had a couple months remaining on my contract). The rep said then that I could get the plan if I was considering leaving.

After the plan was activated, I upgraded my stepson's phone from the enV Touch to the Droid X so he could use the data plan. Unfortunately, that activated some other promotion and it knocked the family unlimited data off the plan for that one line. The reps at Verizon COULD NOT reapply the unlimited family data plan and I had to call the original number in the email to get it reapplied. The woman there told me I'm lucky I called today because since it's the last day of the promotion, after today I probably could not have gotten the discount reapplied, even through the marketing department.

SO BE VERY CAREFUL if you get a new phone or make ANY changes to your account! Make sure the reps who help you understand you do not want to change ANYTHING about your plan, nor do you want any of the current promotions or it WILL disable your sweet family unlimited plan!!
