That sucks she didn't wanna give it to me I have 2 smart phones and a reg. Phone and with the new plan I was goin to pay like 5 bucks more but have and extra 700 min and unlimited data on the reg. Phone oh well I guess ill try later and tell them I got the email and see what happends. I'm in Orlando FL, she told me they do it in different areas only so idk.....

They also said this is not going to end in a year - once your in your in, until you change your plan -

Sent from my Droid

I just got off the phone with them (success!) and made sure to ask about this. The nice lady I spoke with was very explicit in that this will end in one year. Once that year is up your plan will go back to just the way it was before.

My rep stated that I was good for two years with this new plan unless I misheard him.

I called the number a couple hours ago and asked about it...the rep asked if I had received a call or mail about it and I said I received a mailing regarding it (of course, I didn't...just saw it over on Engadget and here). But I guess everything checked out because she switched me over, no questions asked. She did say that I'd need to extend my contract for another year...I was fine with that...since my contract would've run out July 2012, I figured it would've bumped me up to 2013. Nope...the contract runs out November 2011 now.

Soooo...I should be able to start saving about $20/month now on my cell service. And getting the same features...just adding unlimited texting. I already had 450 minutes and unlimited data, and had 250 texts for $10. This is certainly a nice change for me.

same bump in the road I hit.

no go for my 'area'..... :icon_evil:

No joy...

Well I called 3x now. 3 different CSR's. 3 different reasons...
  • Didn't receive the email directly
  • Current plan is not close enough to renewal
  • Existing corporate discount could prohibit eligability
So I called my corporate executive @ VZ. She explained that she also had no knowledge of this plan or offer. It seams VZ operates in many silos or tiers and they don't talk to each other. So the corporate tier didn't know about it and this offer is through the business continuity office/tier.

Looks like they are making very little excpetions in some cases for who the offer is extended to. Kinda stinks since this plan is $10 more than what Sprint offers for a comparable unlimited talk/text/data/M2M family plan but a lot cheaper than having 2 unlimited plans w/data for VZW now.

Oh well.. COD BlOps drops at midnight, that'll cheer me up. :icon_ banana:

0/6 now.

Same reply.

Need an email/flyer. I asked nicely if she could just review my account and see if any exceptions can be made and nada.

She said that I don't qualify since I'm on an old 700 family share plan w/ 1 add'l line and two data packagages. I don't qualify.

Whatever. Would have been nice. Would have gotten twice as many minutes, unlimited text vs. 250, and still saved $12 bucks a month.

:(

I just got off the phone, and hit the same roadblock. I'm planning on dropping my 3rd line (dumb phone) soon, and he did say that once I drop the 3rd line, I should call back and plead my case. So that's what I'm going to do. I basically told him that the only select people get the discount policy was crap and being a long time customer it was pretty disappointing to see this happen. That's when he told me to call back when the account is changed. we'll see....

so this i show my plan looks for two smartphones the monthly access charge of $110 +10% employee discount comes out to $99then $10for the second line then $30 each for the data plans for both smartphones so thats 60 bucks then they discount each data plan $20 so thats 40 dollars off,my total monthly access charge is $99+$20+$10=$129.99 monthly access charge + tax

This is exactly how mine shows up as well. And now I can upgrade everyone on my plan to smart phones and it won't add a dime to my plan. This is a sweet deal for people with multiple lines.

I just talked to a regular VZW rep at *611 today, after I switched my plan to this yesterday. She said the promo pricing stays until December of 2038!

I told her I would probably still be a VZW customer haha.

Yessss

I just got off the phone and had a wonderful rep named Peggy. Got the offer which will save me and the fam about 50 or 60 bucks for 5 lines, and now can get the teenager a smartphone without the extra 30 bucks. Thanks to whoever posted this. 877.873.3278 Her extension was 3210. you can try and see if it works, but she did say that it is exclusive to certain areas and you have to extend your contract by a year if you have a contract that is up in a year, but you can keep the new in 2 upgrade. Very happy.dancedroid,:icon_ banana: Im in Stokesdale NC,

Success on my first call.
Was as easy as pie.

Got a young man named Tom who was more than happy to change my plan over without any hesitation.

I simply said "I'm calling about an e-mail regarding a new plan..."
I didnt say "I'm calling about an e-mail I recieved.."
or
"I'm calling about an e-mail I heard about..."

Just "I'm calling about an e-mail regarding a new plan.." and it took a whole 5 minutes.

Best part is nothing changes at all for me.
I was already paying $69.98 for 450 mins and data.
Now I get unlimited texts for free, and my contract date dosent change because I didnt get my Droid until Dec of last year. Also equipment upgrade remains the same.

This seems very strange that the vast majority of us did not get the promotional material yet some are able to get the plan and other are not. This certainly could be the result of smoe VZW reps doing their homeowkr and other not, but I would think that this would be fairly system automated.

This makes me wonder if this has something to do with customer loyalty and how long you have been a Verizon customer. I personally have been with Verizon for almost 7 years. I wonder if others who are getting the promotion have been long time customers as well. Maybe I am totally off, but this seems to be one avenue that has not been discussed in this thread that could possibly explain the behavior.
