New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

Has anyone gotten a confirmation text from VZW that shows the change to your account yet? I was switched over a few hours ago but haven't gotten the usual follow-up from Big Red.

Not yet, made some changes to my account online and got one instantly.

But nothing having to do with the promo............

It worked for me even though we didn't get the promotional email. I'm already on a family plan, with 2 droids and 250 text limit for each phone. So with this new plan we pay a few cents more, but we get double the minutes and unlimited text, so it's worth it.

The first rep we spoke to said no, because we weren't part of the promotion. The second rep also said no, but then we kindly asked her if there's anything she could do for us, and she gladly gave us the deal!

However, she said that the deal is for one year only. I'm not sure how accurate that is, since I don't see Verizon automatically reverting me back to my previous contract. We'll see.

This seems very strange that the vast majority of us did not get the promotional material yet some are able to get the plan and other are not. This certainly could be the result of smoe VZW reps doing their homeowkr and other not, but I would think that this would be fairly system automated.

This makes me wonder if this has something to do with customer loyalty and how long you have been a Verizon customer. I personally have been with Verizon for almost 7 years. I wonder if others who are getting the promotion have been long time customers as well. Maybe I am totally off, but this seems to be one avenue that has not been discussed in this thread that could possibly explain the behavior.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head here. The first thing the agent said when I called was "Thank you for being a customer since 1989". He then asked where I heard about the promotion, and I admitted I read about it here. He asked what I saw, and I read him the details, and he started reviewing my plan to see if it would be a savings.

We did determine that since I use so few minutes of voice, it would only be a savings for me if I added smartphones to both other lines, which I am not ready to do, but he was willing to change the plan if I said so even then.

Made the call... no problems she just asked me where I heard about the promotion.. I'm now saving 20 a month and have double the minutes.. and the most important thing my youngest can now have a droid without my bill going up $30... go big red...

Well no luck for us on the east coast spoke to a rep they said it was only available to a select geographical customers ( some parts of south and southern California) so all in New York With the hope of saving money .....don't waste your time (pissed off)

Not true, I called around noon today and I live in TN and the guy asked me where I heard about it, I just told him I read about it online. He then switched everything over for me AND told me that it would not change when i'm eligible for a new phone it would only increase my contract for 1 year. No problems, no hassles. If you get a person that says no I say to just call back and try and get someone else.

Nothing showing anywhere in my system at work (VZW corporate) about it. I'm in Martinsville VA (considered NE territory).

anyone in the northeast get this deal? where about are you?

I'm in Kansas and called he did not even question me, lost 50 minutes a month but I never used that many anyway. Best part is my bill is now $20.00 cheaper.

I'm in NYC and I got the deal. The corporate discount I had still applies too.
