New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

Don't want to rain on everyone's parade, but keep in mind that after a year, the deal is supposed to go away. I did some arm twisting and got it, while taking advantage of the Droid 2 BOGO and cashing in my NE2. But come next November, unless competition changes things, I'll be either forking out another $50/mo or have to trim my data plans back to $15 (if still available) and texting back to the $5 deal.
I worked for Big Red - once you are on a plan (they're always called promotional pricing - even on the current Nationwide/Nationwide Select - they are called promotional plans). You are not going to lose it in a year or it would be a breach of contract. Please be sure what you're telling others before you post inaccurate information about this.

On that I called in today and they confirmed it was set to go and ...wouldn't expire

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Ben but, employees are not eligible for this plan, its for consumers only.

This $69.99 plan is a great idea, and I can't wait to sell it. It's also probably the only way I could afford my smartphone...if I wasn't a premium retail rep with an employee liable plan (can't beat a $30 phone plan!).

Can't wait to sell this as well. I think it will draw plenty of newer customers who can't afford these big giant phone bills, but who still want a smart phone. Puts us right in line with Sprint, but with a better network/more coverage. Hopefully they roll it out nationwide soon...before Christmas would be nice!

I guess I'd still have to pay extra for V Cast if I wanted to watch the NFL app for the droid even though I have this new Family plan.

Awesome!!! This thread just saved me $20 per month and doubled my minutes.dancedroid
how did it double your minutes? what where you on before?

Before I had only 700 minutes but with two smartphones we were paying 159.99 per month before taxes.

how much did the rep tell you the $139 plan would be including taxes? the rep i talked to told me it be around $160 for the new plan.

im currently on 700 minutes and 2 phones, my bill is 151 a month.

I would also like to say THANK YOU! to the op for posting this and all the info that comes from all the DF members. Dont know exactly how much it will save me but will be at least $40.

Ok, there is alot of pure misinformation in this thread.

Firstly, reps who are adding it without you receiving it are not doing their job. They should not be offering this promo to you period. And yes, they are aware of people downloading and forwarding the emails and if it is not in the system then they are not to offer it, period.

Second, this offer is from CMO only. Call *611 all you want. They should not be able to do anything because it says call this number.

Third, this a marketing test promotion. These kinds of things happen all the time. Sadly, people are posting this all over and people are calling in and taking advantage of it when they should not be. This is a promotion strictly for the northeast. The number you are calling is into a northeast call center. It is not bound by geography. It has nothing to do with tenure. These people are selected randomly. So all this speculation about who is getting it is incorrect. Also, it is NOT for a year. It will be on the plan until you make a change that would make you ineligible for it. People stating it is for a year are 190% WRONG.

Lastly, it would not surprise me to see the plug pulled on this whole thing. Reps are not doing their job by checking offers and customers are demanding a promotion they should not even know about because it is a marketing test.

Please stop calling in and blatantly lying you received an email. They can pull up every single mailer/correspondence ever sent to you.

It would be nice to see this offered across the board. everyone wants to save money, but please, stop shoppiing for reps who will give you something you are not eligible for. I am willing to bet tomorrow if you did not get it, they will not add it.

And a little birdy told me all this. I only speak for myself.

So what you are saying is it's unfair for everyone take advantage of this.
1: I did not lie to no one.
2: I was told the first time it was just Alabama and Georgia.
3: I just ask about the promo and he sold me.
He told me all the things I could do or money I could save.

So to sum it up.
I called twice. Told the first time it was for Ala. and Ga.
Then second time I just ask about the promo I had read about on the net and he sold me. Never mentioned the forum, did not lie.
It ended costing me $10 more on my plan but I saved $100 a month from the $29.99 for all 5 lines.

They never even asked me about an email - and I never mentioned nor received one, I just called the number and inquired and they said "yes sir" we would be glad to do this for you -

My experience as well, I just said "I'm interested in the new unlimited plan promotion" and boom. :)

What did they tell you no? Or do you work at the call center and getting mad because you actually have to do your job and answer phones?

Funny how one person is upset because we are able to save a little money on our bill. And believe me VZW are still making bank even if every single person in the world was on this plan.

So what's your problem?

I switched to this a couple days ago. Solid plan and it is superior to what we are on now even with my 22% discount received through work. Nice young lady that set me up stated I would not get my work discount, but the discount is applied when I look at my account online. Guess I will see when the bill arrives. Stinks that some folks are having trouble getting this deal. Had they refused me I may have threatened to walk as we have been month to month for awhile now.

I do not fundamentally disagree with you. I admire the fact you have integrity and I only wish everyone was as honest as you are. Frankly, most customers are awesome and they are really wonderful. Actually, all of them are. It is unfortunate that forum posts on other sites have encouraged people to lie.

I do know why those reps are selling it without investigating and they are not doing their jobs and really have issues. But I will not elaborate because it will contribute nothing positive.

I would absolutely love to see this as an offering across the board. At the moment, it is just a market test for the plan. Sadly, it was posted on the internet and it has not been handled properly. Rest assured, your promo is there forever til you make a change.

I am sorry if I came off as harsh. I have been reading numerous blogs where people have been telling people to download the image and photoshop your number in. So yes, some people lack integrity. I have never seen people on this forum do things like that so understand I am seeing and reading alot of things.

The sad thing here is there is absolutely zero consistency across the board. It definitely is unfair that some who are ineligible are getting it and others are not. And yes, there is alot of misinformation about this promo and I was just trying to clear things up.

And I work for tmobile (yay biggest 4g network). I'm just a verizon fanboy at heart :icon_ banana:
