New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

I just called and i got the promotion. The customer service rep did not know what i was talking about at first but when she double checked she offered it to me and transferred me to another dept.

There is a catch... You have to extend your contract for an additional year and the data plan has to activated on all the lines.

I have 4 lines 2 of them have the data plan, i was paying a total of $80.
Now i have data plan on all lines (even on the phones that aren't smart phones) and my total is now $40.

She said when the other phones are eligible for upgrade they can get a smart phone and the data plan will be there.

The additional year contract does not effect upgrades.

She also said that they are not offering this to everyone, only customers that have been with them for a long time or if you are upgrading or if you multiple lines with smart phones.

good. you got the details at least. mine was easy cuz i met all of the above a long time ago. but you were able to change yours and still save money. now go to best buy and get a free smartphone

the additional year didnt affect me at all cuz i just upgraded all 4 lines this past summer

lol it's hilarious how so many people are getting different results. Some reps aren't acknowledging this promotion at all whereas others are. The rep I spoke to did say it would extend my contract a year (no problem at all), but in fact, it only was extended 1 month. Weird...

you have to sign up for a new 2 yr contract. otherwise vzw is offering very cheap ones right now

dont u still have to wait ur turn, which i wait for 18 months from the new 2 year agreement to get a upgrade, to go to best buy?...or can u do this anytime just as long as u renew it for another 2 years?

thats why i say sometimes you have to call back and get a different rep. i've had to do that for other things all the time

I just did exactly that, and was able to get the discount, with the year extension on my contract - which, in my case, is fine. In my situation, it only saved me $5 per month, b/c I'm on a single line, 450 min, 250 text, unl. data. But still, now it's $5 less and unlimited texts.

One thing to note - I did receive the email for this promotion back when it started, and I remember at the time reading that it was a regional thing - so it still might not work for everybody.

worked here, just note if you have a phone thats about to end its contract you will have to extend it another year to get this deal.
