So is that a new end date on the contract? Did they add a year on to your current contract or were you already on a 2 year deal?

in my case i still have 18 months. it just rolled into it. so no, it didnt extend it

No. We upgraded to two DXs October '10. So it didn't affect the contract at all. I'm still eligible for an early upgrade June 2012.

This makes missing the BOGO X promo by a month and TEN DAYS a little bit easier to swallow...

shouldnt matter when you upgraded!

i'm gonna post it on my wall too. cant believe it. verizon actually reducing your bill instead of upping it. dancedroid

They will make up for it somehow.

yeah. i'm sure they will. but if they change their data plan, we'll be grandfathered in.

Just called multiple reps. The first said it was available but I would have to switch each line to 450 minutes and in the end I wouldn't save money. However, the second rep said if I upgraded the wife's Dare to a smart phone that I would get the line for free...Not to bad.

i hope someone tries it to confirm. it cant be just me cuz he told me to tell all my friends.

It was bunk for me. She told me that this promotion is only for a new plan. I upgraded in July. My daughter is on my account but doesn't have a data plan...but even if she did, there is no promotion for me unless I was upgrading and signing a new contract....But don't let that stop you from giving it a try...just a 5 minute phone call......poopy for me....but still glad for those of you that did get it to work!!

Correct I had to upgrade to get the $20/mo/line disc! pros out weighed the cons so i went for it... Didn't want to put pressure on the reps to just apply the discount to my current plan so I opted for the plan change. either way win win!!!!

Just called to ask about it and the idiot on the other end "You already get the 20% discount for being a state employee." I said that that wasn't what I was asking, I wanted to know about the $20/month/line discount... "Yes ma'am you already have the 20% discount." ARGH!!!! Hoping to call back and get someone who understands the words that are coming out of my mouth!!!

Keep trying. As long as you're within the requirements for the plan, they should do it for you.
