Great, another thread that we will have to wade through all the BS "im rooted so I dont care" comments to get to real info!!!

If your rooted and dont care, then dont care and go to the hackers section!
There is no need to fill these threads about the official 2.1 from Moto,Verizion with nonsense about BB 7.9 whatever, Black&white mod sholes 89.3,Droid mod c3po 7.9er 2 or any other hacked version of the 2.1 OS!

Why mods are so quick to jump on people in other threads that stay OT when there are only a few pages but refuse to police it here in the 2.1 threads when there are thousands of posts is beyond me!!

Plain and simple, stay on topic, this topic is about the 2.1 release/delay, not whether you are rooted,glad you rooted or you have been running 2.1 build for weeks!!

There are a few of us who DO NOT want to root or even CARE about rooting!!

The phone has been out only how many months??? This will be what # update?? This phone will have exactly 2 more updates when it gets 2.1 than any other phone in the past so I will wait paitently for it!

Sure it can possibly void your warranty. But if you just don't brick it (follow instructions and you won't) and if it were to have issues later just return to stock and Verizon can't tell its been rooted.

I think the point is that there are threads about rooting and threads about the official 2.1 update. I think that talking about rooting, especially in the sense of going on again, and again, and again, and again about why to do it vs. waiting for the update is off topic in a 2.1 thread. It also makes the thread longer and more diluted. Not to say rooting posts are the only culprit in that regard, but that's the point being made here and I think it's quite valid.

I care about the update even though I'm rooted; unlike the other 1,000 people who want to rub it in others' faces. . The 2.1 update is what's holding back Flash, right? So when we get the update, maybe Adobe will decide it's time to release Flash to us Droid-ers. One can only hope. That's the only reason I'm anxious for this update.

What serious SW fault could they have let slip to the day it was going to be pushed, when in fact most if not practically all of the code had been leaked, and incorporated into several ROM's already?

I think the rooting community would find such a fault very quickly.

Aluminum I do understand your frustration but this has been addressed.

What toasts me is, I get an email from androidguys that says, "tomorrow you will be gtting your ota 2.1 upgrade" ,yeah sure. I no longer want to be on the androidguys email notification list. As far as i. am concerned they are just rumor mongering knuckleheads.

And distribution will be randomly selected as well. Whenever they decide to actually distribute this.

Well, obviously nothing happened last night and it seems like every day it's coming "the next day." With due respect we did have a member yesterday who said that he knows someone that works in corporate at Verizon and he was told distribution starts Monday. You can accept it as fact or just ignore it which ever you choose, but please do not insult the member by flaming.

I haven't heard anything from any sources I have over hear yet. I will be checking through the day. If I hear anything credible I'll certainly let you know.
