Well, it's kind of like this: I can't delete a thread in the news forum. It's not my area all I can do is moderate. I can issue warnings and infractions, vacations, etc. But I need a super mod to go in to delete a thread.

But you're right it does get tiresome. Still it has to be done.

This week, all signs point to Big Red attacking again with another 1,000 updates starting Wednesday (3/24). If all goes well, they will roll out the 200,000 per day batches on Friday and for the next few days after until finished.

It's really hard not to get my hopes up. On the flip side, it's really hard to believe anything at this point.

It is all speculation and rumor at this point. There is nothing concrete from anyone, just a conversation with a Motorola rep from one of the Droid related websites, and frankly, if you ask me, it's a misunderstanding.

I will believe it when I see the update prompt on my phone.

sbf update

Last week, I unrooted the phone and flashed the sbf update with the change in the radio, and I could not be more pleased. The only thing that I have added is the helix launcher. Am not rooted at this time. That install is rock solid. Took away some of the anticipation on the OTA update.

Well here's a is quote pulled off OD Android central for 2.1 and the update

""The Android 2.1 upgrade for the Droid by Motorola was deployed to a small number of Verizon Wireless test users as scheduled. It is expected the broader phased rollout to all Droid by Motorola users will take place, but not just yet. No date scheduled yet.""

As you can see this thread is not about 2.1 for the Eris or the Milestone.

While you are trying to be helpful your post does not help VZW's customers using the Moto Droid.

Well as you can see the topic is pertaining to the MOTOROLA DROID! And what he said was stay on topic and you posting about the Eris was OFF topic!
