This is the first custom ROM I've used in a long time. Probably since my D1. Pretty slick. A couple of things I've noticed, some of which I'm not clear on if they've been fixed in a subsequent update.
Keyboard stays lit until the screen is turned off. This appears to only be the case if automatic brightness is enabled.
I lost my data connection for about 10 min. I'm in a 4G area and had nearly full signal strength. So far this has only happened once so it's quite possibly a carrier issue.
Under System Settings > Display > Automatic Backlight > Edit Other Levels, you have complete control over your brightness settings. I messed around with mine a bit - you can see the current sensor levels so you know what you each "lower/upper" number means.
This is what I'm currently using:

From what I've gathered...
Sensor = The current sensor reading. Filtered is the average of the sensor over the time you set for the sample. Raw is the immediate sensor reading. If you don't use the average, your screen will flicker as you walk through shadows, etc.
Screen = The current setting for the screen. You can go from 20 to 255, 20 being the darkest.
Buttons = The current setting for the front screen buttons (menu, home, back, search). This is 0 or 255. Off or on.
Keyboard = The current setting for the keyboard backlight. This is adjustable from 0 to 255.
"Lower" is the only setting you can adjust, with "upper" being one notch below the next level's "lower". The last one defaults to infinity.
In my settings, you can see that I only have the buttons and keyboard on when the sensor reads 0-19 (which is pretty much night time only). The keyboard is very faintly lit up but I can see it perfectly when it's night time.
In direct sunlight (15000+), my screen goes up to 200 or 230, depending on how bright the sunlight is.
Mess with these settings all you want - you can always revert back to the default.
