[Odin] Full EB01 Froyo leak, packaged ROMs w/root and new clockwork **UPDATED**2/11

I went for it... I thought something might be wrong because it only took 3 minutes to flash, not 9. just put the battery back in and seems to be rebooting fine.... Its working! Thank you TAPOUT!

Went for it... I got a bit worried when it only took 3 minutes instead of 9 to flash so I did it again. It works awesome! Thanks TAPOUT!

Got it all Done using this method and then updated to the 2.5 superclean. Couple of quick questions.

1. Under Location & Security I was playing around and trying to find the puzzle lock piece and accidentally clicked the change screen lock. Is there a way to undo this so I don't have to click the pattern every time and just go back to the puzzle?.....UPDATE NEVERMIND THIS>>>>>>FIGURED IT OUT ON MY OWN.

2. I have my original backup on my SD card from EA28. If I am understanding correctly you cannot use ROM Manager with these files now (Superclean 2.4/2.5), so how would one go about getting back to stock? Would I have to flash in ODIN the 2.1 files posted here somewhere and then install ROM Manager and reflash my original ROM from there?

3. I restored my apps from the Titanium Backup I did and when I click on Market how come the apps that I restored are not showing? Any ideas on how to get them to show so I can keep them up to date? Thanks........UPDATE NEVERMIND THIS>>>>>>>>>FIGURED IT OUT ON MY OWN.

BTW.......Thanks a ton for all the help TAPOUT. You have been very patient with me.

Does anyone know witch version of froyo has the best battery life? The stock battery life seems terrible, but I haven't tested it yet.

I cannot tell you for sure, but the safest bet would be the SuperClean versions. They have most of the bloatware and other crap removed.

Thanks, that might be why they haven't officially released this update. I hope this issue is resolved when they do or I'm going root crazy!

Unfortunately this was the same problem that many were having with the Original 2.1. The bloatware and crap that Verizon/Samsung placed on the phone were slowing it down a ton and also causing it to eat battery. Unfortunately it looks like the original leaked 2.2 has the same issues. Now that others have cleaned it up, it is running nicely and there is a definite improvement in the speed.

You can root an then install Titanium Backup from the Market. Titanium Backup will allow you to freeze or uninstall apps that came with your phone. I would definitely recommend freezing them (making them basically inoperable) to make sure that they are not going to affect your performance. Do this one or two at a time (you can unfreeze them if there is a problem). If after a while you find that they are not causing issues and you want to remove them then go ahead. I think that there is a thread here somewhere about what apps people have had no problems removing from the stock setup. If not there is one over at XDA or AndroidCentral.

If you are talking about Updates for the Apps then yes, if you are talking about updates for the phone then the answer is yes as well (Rooting your phone will not allow it to take updates for future software). I am not sure why you would need app updates if you are trying to remove them. As for software updates to the phone just use SuperOneClick method and it gives you the option to root and unroot. You can root, install Titanium Backup, freeze apps, then unroot and your phone will take it's normal updates. If that is what you are worried about.

I thought that when the official 2.2 update comes out it will unroot my phone when I go to install it?

That is a guess by anyone. Right now from what I have read the consensus seems to be that the update will not take if you are rooted. You would have to wait for the developers to clean one up and then install it over your current ROM.
