[Odin] Full EB01 Froyo leak, packaged ROMs w/root and new clockwork **UPDATED**2/11

Succeeded 0/ failed 0

Hey guys so i followed the steps to this thread with SC 2.4. I am pretty sure i followed all the steps exactly but i could be wrong. I got that message in odin after i put the SC2.4 file in the PDA section.i noticed in the directions that tapout said it was the .tar file, mine has .tar.md5-Does this have anything to do with it?and if not then what should i do?thanks.

First of all, Tapout, you are full of WIN! Nice and easy..love it!

Ok, so a couple of minor things I am seeing (or haven't seen in this thread) that spelled out, might make it just a LITTLE easier on folks. (the new new folks)

1. The instructions do mention putting the "update.zip" onto the SD card, but it's not mentioned that people need to flash that to get the new CWM (Clockwork Mod). I have seen posts with people asking why it boots into Samsung recovery. The original posts makes it seem (to those who dont know better) that CWM will be all installed and ready to go once they flash with odin and is all-in-one.

For those that are unsure, here is what you need to do:

**AFTER FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS IN ORIGINAL POST**

1. Power down Phone.
2. Restart into Recovery (Hold both volume buttons and power at same time, release power button once you see Samsung logo, release volume keys once you see blue text)
3. Using volume keys, select Apply "update.zip" and press the Home Soft Key
4. It should automatically convert to Red CWM.
5. You are done, select reboot phone.

2. Those of you concerned about losing apps and app data, might I recommend Titanium Backup Pro (yes, you will have to buy it, but COMPLETELY worth it if you plan on doing this a bit). You can backup all apps/app data and restore them after anything you do that wipes your phone. I HIGHLY recommend it as it will be the only thing you need to re-download from the market, then restore all app data. YOU MUST BE ROOTED FIRST THOUGH. If you have never rooted your phone, start here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/sa...ent/79811-newbie-guide-rooting-fascinate.html

No one has made the suggestion, just been telling people they will lose all app data when that doesn't have to be the case.

I hope this helps at all. Just trying to make it easier on those who come here and are new.

Thanks again Tapout.

Thanks for this, but kinda odd... When I followed the steps (apply update.zip), it went to a red screen, but read "Voodoo Lag Fix Recovery (something like) 2.2.5"... Whats up with that?

Question

I just rooted last night with Odin & used the :Debloated/Deodexed Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod
EB01DB_DXC.tar

What is the difference between this & the Super Clean 2.4 version?
Also, I downloaded the SC 2.4 but when I right clicked on the file there was no option from me to exrtract the .rar.

Sorry if there are stupid questions but I am not really up to speed on all of this. If someone could just clarify some of this for me I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

The file should be extracted from the ZIP and the file ends in both .tar.md5. This is exactly how it should look. If it did not work properly, then try loading it again. Sometimes if it hangs or miscues it will cause a bit of trouble. Make sure you follow the directions about the update.zip file on the SD card and wiping the data.

I can only give you a partial answer as I am not sure of the first. If you downloaded the SC2.4 file and it would not extract then redownload it again. I have downloaded it several times and each time I had the option of extracting the file. When it extracts you are going to see the SC2.4 file with the ending .tar.md5. This is what you need.

Ok so I got all this going but I am big time confused on one thing. WHen I get into CWrecovery its in red, and says CwR Voodoo Lag Fix v2.5.1.. Where is the voodoo coming from? Base on quad scores I sure do not seem to have the lag fix enabled...can anyone help me with this?

EDIT: THere is also a 'vodoo' option once in CwR Voodoo Recorvery etc etc. When I goto that it gives me options such as: enable, disable, bug on etc etc...Like I said, as far as I know I have not d/led Voodoo at all...Help is appreciated.

Hmmm battery life seems to be gradually improving. Has anyone else noticed this on stock froyo?

How can you determine with SuperClean version you are running?

My main question is how to determine which version of SuperClean is running, but first, want to say thanks to Tapout27 for putting this together. I had rooted my original phone and with the help of this post, finally dove into the world of ODIN and it worked perfectly!

Froyo + SuperClean has been awesome. My only issue has been battery life. I ran this on 2/15/11 but I can't remember what version of SuperClean I downloaded and flashed. Is there anyway to tell.

In the end, it really doesn't matter because I will probably just download and do it again because it is so easy!

Thanks Adrynalyne and Tapout27 for your time and efforts and sharing this with the community.

when i put the battery in my phone is when it shows a phone, yellow exclamation point and a computer on it. so im guessn im screwed. i can still bring up the yellow download wout the battery and it plugged into the comp.

i am having this same issue and am on my 10th try anything else i can do mine gets stuck at factoryfs please help

Ok...

To extract the file .tar.md5 your computer either has to have the programs needed to extract per Windows or you can download Winrar for free and once installed you will always have the additional options when you right click on something

The clockworkmod recovery that is installed on your phones is the Red Voodoo version modified to work with Froyo since the Green version was having compatibility issues and data issues...If you did not flash a Voodoo version of SuperClean then you are not running voodoo, Its always red regardless...dont mess with the voodoo settings if you arent running Voodoo...

If you phone still goes into download mode then you are fine, your phone is not 'toast'....you just need to go over the directions again and reflash the ODIN as it didnt take the first time
As long as you can get in download mode you can recover to any build available in ODIN

Also if your having issues in ODIN, its probably a bad download....redownload the file, extract the needed .tar.md5 and try again

I just read a twitter feed about a new version of CWR, in rom manager, that is supposed to work with the fascinate. Anyone try it yet?

I'm expecting my Fascinate today and plan on putting 2.6 on ASAP. So I have a coupla questions. If When I activate, it offers me the update that was pushed out, should I accept or no?
Also, as for clarification of 2.6, How would you summarize it? WHat exactly does superclean mean? haha I'd like froyo with flash and no bloatware or lag at all... Thats all i need. What would y'all suggest?
Also also, I see alot of posts saying they tried all day to put this on their devices... is it that had? the instructions seem pretty easy. Lemme know something. Thanx again y'all.
