This is the issue. Phone will not boot up. The owner did something to it. He can't get it to pass the phone + pc icon. Neither can I. However, I can get it to go download mode using the "removal of the battery; hold the volume button down then connect to pc" method. I'm just trying to reload the firmware back so I can get the phone to work.[/QUOTE]

Just a quick thought......could it be the battery is either toast or is an aftermarket that is incompatible?

Neg. The battery is stock. The phone is only 1 month old the most.

do you have access to the stock Fascinate cable? have you tried all the usb ports on your machine? uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers? closing and reopening ODIN?

do you have access to the stock Fascinate cable?
No
have you tried all the usb ports on your machine?
Yes
uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers?
Yes
closing and reopening ODIN?
Yes

See above.

Based on trial and error its either an incompatible cable issue or a bad download IMO...the fact that it recognizes the phone, shows a yellow COM port in ODIN and trys to flash is a good indication of either of those being the culprit

This what bugs me though. If it was the bad download, it wouldn't pass the MD5 checkup. Correct?

correct, that should guarantee a matching download....

Double checking.... PIT file is not needed correct?

I have tried loading the firmware with no PIT file and w PIT file. Same results.

so here is what i have going i am on my 2nd day of trying to flash 2.4 nothing works i have tried over 30 times lost count please help the phone stays connected now have reloaded the the drivers and odin as well as 2.4 at one piont it got up to 90% through now it is stuck at 20% is there anything else i can do or am i screwed FML FML:icon_evil:

What windows r u running. I couldnt get it to work on my one comp running xp pro so i did it on my fiances conp running vista64. I downloaded drivers for the phone off one of the older root forums. I wish i could remember which one. But it still took me like an hour of messn with useing odin. It would do as yours did get up to 80-90% then fail then it would get to 20% and fail. About a million times( ok almost a million) i clicked go and walked away for a few and it went.

Bluetooth Voice Dial?!?!?!

Ok, I've done the requisite searches in this and other forums and I am totally stumped. I have read that on Froyo (I'm 2.6 SuperClean) you can simply long-press the button on your bluetooth headset and it will natively (without that CRAPPY Nuance!) do Google Voice dialing. Others even brag about how great the recognition works, etc.

Why doesn't it work on these awesome EB01 releases? Is it not there in the EB01 build or is it my Plantronics 975 expensive-as-hell headset that doesn't work right?

Any feedback welcome.
