OFFICIAL: 2.1 to release this week on the Motorola Droid

Hmmm... kind of makes one wonder if the new Maps with BUZZ timing was done to coincide with the 2.1 release for Droid.

Good idea. They would generate a topic for people to Buzz about and at the same time generate buzz for Android 2.1

It's like twitter, but you update your status or whatever you're doing as it shows where you are "buzzing" from on google maps.

I think the Buzz/GoogleMaps/Android integration is really pretty interesting.

Okay i mean.. this is my opinion on the whole 2.1.. I mean a lot of us are rooted.. and are running the 2.1 APKs.. the only reason that id go to 2.1 when its released is for Flash and the live wallpapers. I mean other than that what is on there that we can't do on a rooted droid, I hear that that although nexus yone iz 1.0 GHz.. well ill let the quote speak for itself...

I am not 100% sure but i don't think Devour has live wallpapers. I believe its running Android 1.6 which doesn't support it.

How long to "Buzzes...?" stay? They couldn't stay forever...the whole map would be filled in a day. Can you only have one at a time?....I can't really seem to find info from google on this.

I think your incorrect. I don't believe Devour has live wallpapers. As for why not, I am sure it doesn't run well on the Droid for any number of reasons. If they ran perfectly on Droid then they would most likely be included. Besides, I don't believe it is fact that Droid will not have live wallpapers.

The Devour won't have close to what we do with 1.6. No one has even speculated it will have live wallpapers - I don't know where people hear this stuff.

Not entirely sure, I just watched their little buzz video thing. It looks like notifications come in the form of e-mail and you can see pictures and embedded stuff in it. Kinda reminds me of a g-mail/googlewave hybrid like thing.
