i wonder if you get an lte phone, they make you get an lte plan? i'm guessing that 3g will be backwards compatible with lte? i definitely don't want to pay more for lte (i don't need it). but lots of cool droid phones coming out.
Granted system level tweaks and OC'ing are by far on the top of my list. That being said cooked ROMs are important as well assuming the stock ROM on the device has some craptastic UI.
From reading the link it seems to be a Droid with a 8 MP camera and no keyboard. Everything else about it in the article seems to be identical to our current Droids.
Your all pipe dreaming here... it kinda makes me smirk. Don't expect an updated Droid until November... I work in procurement and purchasing for Verizon, and I generally know about the phone releases 3-5 months in advance. Their are no updated Droids coming anytime soon. Not to mention their is no way Verizon would release a phone that would bring down Incredible sales within a month of launch. Get real people and STOP PIPE DREAMING!
....Do u think Verizon really cares about what happens with HTC phones? More phones they can push, better for their business. Plus, Motorola might be the company behind LTE for Verizon... I think they would wanna make them happy....its 2 different companies releasing phones: Motorola and HTC. I could see u questioning them releasing another Motorola phone.....but look what HTC did so soon after the Eris: the Incredible.
Verizon is tickled pink about all this. Then lets not forget they released the LG Ally, another Android phone........wouldnt they be worried it would hurt the sales of the Inc.?
And u work in procurement and purchasing for Verizon? Where have u been for all these months? How come I havent heard from u at HoFo? We need your info and input on these upcoming phones...spill the beans.
I wonder when the next phone with sense ui will be out.. IF one comes out with 4.3" inch screen, snapdragon, ect. I will probably get it. The new droid at the end of the year still looks like a winner to me though.
I highly doubt Moto is jumping to the snapdragon. Everything I have read from ppl that are highly respected on here and hofo states shadow and Droid 2 use the OMAP 3630 and the year end phone may use the 4430, but that is not confirmed.

According to wnrussell and bill23 at howard forums, the Shadow won't hit shelves till at least August due to a "hardware change." It also has not passed the FCC yet (did pass WIFI certification though).
I will be interesting to see how this effecs the Droid 2 and Ultra/Pro. Would not be suprised it the Droid 2 does not hit Verizon until Novemeber. Motorola may not mind releasing the Ultra/Pro around same time because it is a really really high end phone and will have a different customer. I doubt Motorola will want the Shadow and Droid 2 to be within a month or even the same month.
