~OFFICIAL: FRG01B FroYo Issues/Solutions Thread~

Also, is there a way to get silent and vibrate modes back?

Doesn't look like the question has been answered yet. I'm having a similar problem. I have a vibrate mode, but not a silent mode. In 2.1 when you press the volume button down, it lowers the ringer eventually to vibrate, and then silent... However, now with 2.2, it stops at vibrate and doesn't go any further to "silent".

Any help on this matter would be a huge help.

Thanks,
Josh

You can still swipe to the left on the unlock screen to put the phone on Silent, or hold down the power button and select Silent Mode.

It seems mt Launcher Restarting issue (Dissapearing Home Icons) is even worse in Froyo. MANY times especially when I close the browser they always gone. Anyone else notice that it seems it does this even more? I was REALLY hoping Froyo fixed this, NOT made it worse.

My response to this is, what issue?

Sounds to me more likely that one of your apps are causing this. Are you using a task killer or virus protection? You may want to remove those if so. But I'm positive it's not the OS.

I swear I have read every Froyo thread and many theme threads. I too get seriously annoyed when someone asks a question on page 10 that was answered on page 3,5,7 and 9.
But... I have not found the answer to my question.

Re: rooting versus not with 2.2
If I do NOT root and just update to stock 2.2, will I be able to use themes posted here?
Is "theming" a ROOT ONLY feature or is it a 2.2 feature?

I want some of these cool themes so if I need to root to get them I will. If I can use Stock 2.2 to get themes I won't root.
Thanks.

Yes you have to root. You can do come customization with things like LauncherPro an icon changing apps but that's it. The Themes that completely change the status bar and other areas require root.

Hmm... I can't seem to change ringtones. Under Sound Settings, the only ringtone option for Phone and Notification is 'Silent'. Anyone else have the same issue? I've rebooted and also did the battery pull to no avail.

Hmmm... I have been told this before. I have no Task Killer or Virus Protection (I used to have both in the past).

What type of app should I look for that would cause this? Or would it be a widget?

This is minor and probably has to do with the app maker, but my app, LED Light, which has a widget no longer via the app or the widget. anybody experience this?

That only works if you have vibrate set to Never or Only when Not Silent. We are trying to get there to be a vibrate only option as well as silent.

This is the same question.

Thanks for this thread. I was searching all over about # 1.

By the way - so far so good with Froyo 2.2 on my Motorola Droid.

Thank you, Keith.

I did apply this manual update. I am just to damn impatient. lol
A few apps got broken, but most are fine.

Looks like I will be rooting soon. I really love some of these themes.

Anyone else having an issue with the DROID notification not playing:

1. Boot up DROID notification missing.

2. USB Connection DROID notification missing.

That's all I notice so far.

Attached is a screenshot I took after I updated from a file yesterday, is this the current OTA?

I see from your screen shot I was using the same one. Mine stopped working as well. I replaced with B&B Droid Light. Not as attractive widget, but works.

Here's one that I haven't noticed commented on yet:

How do you move or delete widgets in 2.2? Worked flawlessly in 2.1, but now that I got 2.2, I can see to be able to remove (long press, drag to garbage) or move widgets within my main pages.

Thanks,
Josh

I delete them the same way I did in 2.1, nothing changed for me.

Ok, I feel stupid now... Just in case other people have this issue, a phone reboot sure does help alot.
