~OFFICIAL: FRG01B FroYo Issues/Solutions Thread~

Did manual update this morning. In general all is working fine so far, except that WIFI signal strength always has no "waves", but, connects and works fine.

Guess will wait and see what happens when Moto/Verizon restart the suspended OTA rollout...

I had no wifi bars either yesterday but they seemed to have come back slowly over time. Actual connection has been fine.

Just encountered my first issue since doing a manual update this morning. Some videos I have (.3g2) won't play. They worked fine before.

[Edit]

Also just realized vibrate behavior has changed. Before, I could volume down to vibrate mode, then down one more notch would be completely silent. I've tried different combos of vibrate mode in settings but can't get the same behavior back. Oh well.

i manually did mine .... so far the battery heated up once, the phone froze once on startup and it rebooted once. since then its been really good .... lets see what the fix does wen its available

My Droid has aways stayed awake in the car dock with the charger attached so that I can see everything as I drive. Since I updated with the "official" 2.2 yesterday, the phone goes dark after the designated number of minutes as if it isn't plugged in. Anyone had this problem...more importantly, anyone have a solution.

I normally run the phone in the car dock with the normal home page as opposed to the Car Dock page so that I can access everything normally.

Any thoughts?

I've always used the app screebl lite to prevent my backlight from going out.

My biggest problem is the homescreen scrolling. I used to be able to just flick the screen in the direction I wanted and it would go flawlessly. Now i have to literally drag from one side of the screen to the other to get it scrolling. Once it gets started it scrolls with a simple flick but only after you do the long drag.

My screen also does not stay on like it used to in the car and home dock and I hate not being able to select apps in the three empty slots in the car dock home screrens.

Okay, so not only is it not finding my media in MixZing, but it's also not responding when I do pretty much ANYTHING media related in any app. I click the ringtone picker in clock or better alarm clock pro, and it freezes up and stops responding. I can't get to any of them. This is really starting to tick me off.

Did the 2.2 manual update. When searching contacts, the search box opens up, but the keyboard no longer comes up with it automaticaly, you have to tap the search box first. Kind of a minor annoyance. Any settings or anything I might have missed?

Android Agenda Widget

Has anyone figured out how to sync any Calendar Aps (Android Agenda Widget or Pure Calendar) with 2.2? I've tried both and neither is able to sync up with the 2.2 Calendar, even though it looks like they are attempting to do so.

Also, I've been noticing some off and on issues with Notifications in Handscent with the update. Sometimes, I just flat out am not notified of incoming texts. No audible notification, no icon in the Notification Bar, and no flashing LED.

Small issues like that are not a huge deal, but it is quite annoying that this is the case... Don't mind because 2.2 is blazing fast and more than makes up for any shortcomings with its speed in opening aps and freeing up RAM.

For Android Agenda Widget, I resolved the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. You may also be able to look at the settings of the widget, choose "Manage Calendars," click on "Which Calendar apps?" and make sure "Google Calendar API 2.2+" is selected. Not sure if this is available before you uninstall/reinstall, after the uninstall/reinstall it was selected by default for me.

Try touching the lower left hand and right hand corners of the screen (where the little dots are)

This will instantly switch between homescreens. Left corner to go to the screen to the left, right corner to scroll right.

That's the easiest way to switch homescreens on this version of the launcher.

Under Sound | Vibrate settings you have always selected most likely. Change that to "Only when not in silent mode" and it'll be back to normal.

Enjoy!

That does not fix it... Google changed it in 2.2. Its a "Feature"

Wifi only working sporadically after update. If I reboot, it will connect to my home network, but then it drops the connection and will not reconnect without rebooting. Wifi appears to be on - just not connecting.

I have googled some boards and people actually did complain about this. Apparently, they changed the feature and your phone will NOT be able to go from Sound > Vibrate > Silence anymore by simply press on the volume control. They removed the feature because many unintellectual people "missed calls" because they accidentally pressed to silence.

Accordingly, adding to the stupidity (excuse my language) of Google developers, who eagerly listened to those complainers, lacked the sense to add a feature to disable it or enable it by users request, but evidently removed it at all!

Thus, the only way to use silence, vibrate and sound is by using a widget.
I personally installed SilentMode OnOff widget and now using it without a problem. However, I'm irritated at the abnormal lack of intelligence on the part of developers of Google Android with using any logical thinking in satisfying everyone with this issue. Therefore, as I said, the option has been REMOVED in Android 2.2 to go from Sound to Vibrate to Silence and the only QUICK way is to use a widget.

Good luck to all, and pray that Google Developers will have the logic enabled when building Android 2.3 a.k.a Gingerbeard.

It seems mt Launcher Restarting issue (Dissapearing Home Icons) is even worse in Froyo. MANY times especially when I close the browser they always gone. Anyone else notice that it seems it does this even more? I was REALLY hoping Froyo fixed this, NOT made it worse.

Same issue here, it's the same with Laucher pro as well.
