OFFICIAL FRG22D OTA patch is here. DOWNLOAD NOW!

Now that verizon has pushed the ota I no longer get the notification for frg... even after a fresh install of p3droid's leak

Oh ok I thought they pushed the ota before p3s leak but maybe I was wrong. So p3 leak is the actual frgg2d full rom? Its doesn't differ from non rooted with ota applied?

No, P3's is NOT the Official FRG22D. The Official FRG22D is a PATCH. A 1.6MB PATCH that will be installed OVER FRG01B. FRG22D is NOT a full 45+MB file.

The patch in the OP is what is being pushed by VZW.

OK I have FRG22D all deodexed, installed busybox and rooted. Can anyone walk me through how to turn this into a ROM I can post? I know I can make a nandroid back up of it but would like to turn it into something that others an use too.

I really do not understand why people cannot wait a couple days to receive the official OTA. People have been having nothing but weird problems with the leaked version. I mean when you install an "official" OTA and your market app doesn't work, there's something wrong.

I installed the version from Google's servers and have had NO, Zero, Zilch, Nada issues. After I was sure everything was OK I rooted using Moto Cache's file and everything has been great. There are even times that I think it's getting better and better the more it gets used.
I wonder if Android is capable of "Adaptive Learning" like some automotive on board computers where they learn the way you drive and adapt the fuel management etc. to your driving patterns?

Oh BTW I checked with a buddy of mine who has three Droids in the household and his wifes was on of the first to get the FRG01B OTA update and they still have no FRG22B updates.

Not at all what I was saying. What I was trying to get across (sorry maybe not so clear) was that there seems to be much drama over P3's post. Many people got the old FRG01 OTA when on P3's FRG22D (a later version). Didn't make sense right? Well... try it now. At least for me I'm no longer getting the old OTA (even after a fresh install of P3's). Perhaps Verizon started the push later than we thought.

Which BTW I'm not arguing is 'official' or not. All I'm trying to say is the fingerprint seems to be the same.

I have the following Nandroid backups as of now.

2.1 Unrooted.
2.1 Rooted
2.2 Unrooted
2.2 Rooted
2.2 Custom Rom.
2.2 Custom Rom with add on goodies

How do you make a nandroid backup of an unrooted phone? Is that even possible?

+1 this is the best route for rooted users. Be patient somebody will release an up to date clean version with the new 22D kernel

Agree with this, except that I'd prefer a standard 'odex' version since performance matters more to me than being able to theme it. :)

I have not ntoiced a difference between deodex and odex ROMs. What makes you think there is a performance difference. I would think with the apk files being optimized the deodex version would be snappier...[/QUOTE

It's the opposite -- deodex is removing the optimizations and replacing with all the actual resource files files to make it easy to modify things. If you're happy with the standard look and feel there is no reason to "deodex" and you're hurting your device performance.
