OFFICIAL FRG22D OTA patch is here. DOWNLOAD NOW!

As for Flash in the Market, how do I search for it? Just "Flash" or what? I get a lot of apps coming up, but how can I zero in on that?

Search "adobe flash".

Did that and all I got was Adobe Flash Showcase. :icon_evil:

Even by searching under the developer and clearing the cache doesn't help. It says:

Android version
2.2

Broadband version
C_01.43.01P

Kernel version
2.6.32.9-g874c292
android-build@apa26#1

Build number
FRG22D

I downloaded Flash and installed it manually. I just wanted to get it from the Market as I would know about updates.

Not sure this will be of use to most, but I'll report it anyway:

(1) Was running FRG22 (rooted), and got the FRG22D OTA update today.

(2) Accepted the update, which of course failed during SPRecovery.

(3) Did a complete backup. (This is the interesting part) On a whim, I decided to pull the OTA out of cache, rename it to update.zip, and then use SPRecovery to install it.

(4) It installed perfectly; phone rebooted and ran cleanly.

(5) Noticed that I'd lost root. Rebooted into recovery, and SPRecovery was gone too. :icon_eek: No kidding, talk about a stock phone!

(6) Turned the phone off, then used RSD Lite to reinstall SPRecovery. Then reinstalled the backup I did in (3). :) Brought my phone back to FRG22 (rooted).

(7) Now this was odd...out of curiosity, I decided to go into the market and look for Flash, and for the first time it was there. Downloaded and installed.

Of course, I figured that maybe somehow I was still running FRG22D, but when I checked, nope...it was back to FRG22. Maybe Flash is now visible to both versions?

Flash can take up to an hour after a reboot to appear in the market.

If it's still not there you can install it manually. It's the exact same thing. If it does ever appear after that you can install it directly over what you currently have installed, or you can uninstall and reinstall.

Links and instructions are there.

Thanks. In the meantime I uninstalledthe version I had installed manually and powered off. When I powered back on and went to the Market, Flash was there. dancedroid

It must be an hour since I had rebooted. Very strange, but good to know. I wanted the Market version as it's easier to see an update.

When you get a chance, can you let us know what those bugs were? It might help others who are experiencing the same thing.

Thanks!

FRG22D, and yes. And I definitely recommend it over just doing the patch. It's cleared up a few bugs for me.

Moving apps to SD did not go smoothly before. Also the Gallery seems to load faster. I don't know yet if the "duplicate folders" bug will reappear, though ...but faster is good.

Are you downloading directly to the phone or a computer?

Install Astro from the market (it's free) and try again. It helps. Failing that, download it on your PC and transfer over.

So I'm in a similar boat as aaf709 was, except that I also manually updated to the FRG22D patch in the first post of this thread. But I'm experiencing some issues even after a data reset, so I'd like to try to update using the full FRG22D file.

So my question is do I have to go back to FRG01B before I use this new update that got posted? If so, do I have to do something special to do this or can I just boot into recovery and apply the old update.zip file from the FRG01B update to go back to that?

So download the FRG22D large file and give it a try. Let us know if it loads over the existing FRG22D OTA update. Should not hurt the phone. Chris
