****Official FroYo Rollout Thread-Version2!****

I'm in NC. Got it this morning and wish I hadn't.

Are you running any task killers or antivirus? This is an extremely wonderful update, if you're having issues more then likely it's caused by an app. Consider doing a factory data reset out of your privacy section and see if that doesn't improve your performance.

Nope don't run a task killer or anything. I have exactly 4 apps installed that didn't come with the phone. Swype (which is now broken), NFL app, pandora (which oddly enough works fine) and a solitare game. That's it.

At least that will mean less work if you decide to do the factory reset...

Sal, I think that the larger update really doesn't change that much of what you see listed in the link I provided. I'm not sure why it's larger, I do know that one person that manually installed it on his rooted phone lost root. So the script may have something to do with removing root.

If Verizon has made any other changes then they need to update their screen.

Now so everyone doesn't panic if you are rooted and you say yes to the download it will be blocked. You'd have to manually install it to lose your root.

Post 2.2 - Reload of home page very slow

Wondering if anyone else has this issue.

When I'm in an App and I press the home screen it's taking a long time (10 seconds perhaps) to reload the app shortcuts etc. on my home page. The page shows immediately but stays blank.

Various comments:
* Pressing home from another of the 5 home pages works fast
* Loading from the lock screen is fast
* 1 out of every 50 times it loads fast
* I have tried removing various widgets and nothing seems to make a difference except
* I have not removed my Folder organizer app folders since they take some time to setup. I am wondering if this could be a culprit since it needs to load all those folders on all the pages I assume

Here's my app list if anyone is having the same problem and looking for some common ground.

Any ideas ?

I have a question about the verizon upgrade instructions. Will I get an update notification if I am not connected via wifi? If I am not at home and using G3 will I still get a notification?

Holy crap! So you can essentially brink your phone if you attempt to do the install...

I love BB V0.4, how do I stop the nag screen to update?

I'd suggest dl'ing Spare Parts if you don't have it already, and play with the settings "Window animations" and "Transition animations". It might help with the speed a bit.

I'm in Central Texas and received the update this morning. Swiping to change home screens doesn't work on the first swipe and I'm not too fond of them changing the way you access the app menu. The small menu bar at the bottom of the screen seems a little cramped. But outside of those two things..... I haven't really noticed much that is different.

Swype's website for the beta version is not allowing any more downloads. Was going to try it out.

I'll give it a try but I have most of the animations etc. turned off. This is a much more simple delay between the screen appearing and the app shortcuts becoming visible.

Threads merged. We are going to keep all issues and questions about the update to a couple of threads.

Mandatory System Update: DROID by Motorola,

Look at the upper right screenshot . It shows the update to be 45.2mb.

So I'm wondering if the OTA that people are getting today is that one or the 76 mb one. If not, where did the 76mb come from? And if we OTA-types get the 45.2mb version and have any issues, should we anti-tinkerers attempt to manually install the 76 mb one after all?

Yes, just not if you are "roaming" out of town.

Your decision but I think it's a mistake. These threads are too long, variedand useless to actually get issues resolved and we don't really even know it's a 2.2 issues.

Off to another forum I guess
