I have received confirmation that the OTA has been stopped. Apparently the build they are sending out is buggy. There will be a new OTA with a different build sent out.

There is no reason for those of you who did install to worry. You will be able to install the new version over the one you are currently running.

Hook, can you tell us who you "received confirmation" from, or at least where this informant is from?

Was it from someone at: Google? // Verizon? // dev? // your best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend who heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night? // other?

I really want to upgrade to froyo but do not want to wait. Should i manually update or wait? I really do not want to screw up my phone though

At this stage of the game, with the OTA update being so close to being a reality for us, it's probably better for you to wait if you've never manually updated your phone before.

iirc.......are you saying that those of us who did the manual update will get an ota?
Also, if this is the case, will the ota replace the manual update I already have or just improve on it by "updating" the update?

Thx

If I were in the position of choosing 2.2 over 2.1, knowing what I know I'd still go ahead and update. There will be another version to patch the current one available soon but I'd take 2.2 over 2.1 anytime.

Those who did the manual update will receive another update with a new build of 2.2. You do not need to change anything, it will work out fine.

SO! If the OTA updates are getting FRG22 right on the heels of FRG01B, why is FRG22 not loading to all the manually pushed FRG01B people????? Chris

Who said it was going to be FRG22? It may very well be another version.

This is not my point, my point is that the OTA upgrades to FRG01B get an update right on the heels of the original load, so why are the manual pushed people not getting it also? This security patch or what ever it is must not be triggered by the phone being on FRG01B?????
