No kernels for the D2 as it has the locked bootloader and such. Search the site for R2D2 goodies, i saw them somewhere, they're all packaged up for you to flash, and separate installs available as well.

Thanks an how would I change the boot animation an how would I get the sounds that are from the R2-D2?

If you're interested, I also made a version of the boot animation with the movie-style logo, and a "long time ago" boot logo to go with it.

R2D2 Phone.......Loving it, but having issues with texting

Hey all, I have to droid R2D2, and it's awesome, but I started having issues with the keyboard repeating letters when pressed. I dont know if it's just an issue with the hardware, or if it's an issue with the software. I've done a phone reset, and an update, without success. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call Verizon and have them send you a warranty replacement, your keyboard is worn out.

I ordered my R2 from Amazon for $.01 about 2 months ago. i love it. I also believe i was rather fortunate to get one, 4 days after getting R2 i was going to get another one, J.I.C.,and unavailable,on Amazon or on Verizon. i may have grabbed one of the last ones.
Love the box too.

Was aproud R2D2 owner...

unfortunately it was jacked up and had to get an Asurion replacement. However they were unable to replace with an R2D2. They shipped the D2G. Looking for recommendations to convert it to the SW appearance.

Oh duh, LOL. What aspects of the "SW appearance" were you looking for, specifically? I personally thought the R2-D2 was distinctly lacking in Star Wars theming, and that the bits that were themed were quite disappointing. The only things that remain on my phone are the R2-D2 sounds (and sometimes my own modified version of the boot animation, when I feel like it).

Ok...so I bought the r2d2 and I love it! But....being the tech nerd I am I flashed the gb leak (after backing up my stock rom) now I really really miss the stock phone and unfortunately my girlfriend accidentally erased everything on my sd card while it was in my computer.....can someone please post the stock rom for me so I can enjoy my phone again? Please and thank you!

This ROM (the one labeled "Star Wars") is as close to stock R2-D2 as it gets.

Have you tried any custom ROMs? Liberty GB is an awesome ROM, and the new port of CyanogenMod 7 is VERY promising (only a few minor bugs left).

I looked at that before, but it says not to use on r2d2 droid 2...im actually running zombiestomped right now and I am getting very annoyed with it...well, maybe I will just try CyanogenMod 7 and wait for a stock r2 rom to appear. Thanks for the quick reply!

Where did you read that? I've run multiple versions of Liberty and CM7 very successfully on my R2-D2.
