Solution:

1. Download both Google Search and Voice Search from the Market.
2. Using Root Explorer (or equivalent), go into /data/app and move com.google.android.apps.googlequicksearchbox-1.apk to /system/app (leave Voice Search where it is in /data/app)
3. Rename the above .apk to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
4. Reboot phone

Now tapping the search button should bring up Google Search and holding down the search button should bring up Voice Search.

I don't think that's going to fix anything but if you want to try what you do is go into system/app/ mount r/w and long press the app then hit delete.

I left the black keyboard out because it is way bigger than the stock android keyboard. If you guys really want it I will add it back in the next release if there is one.

Has anybody gotten the new Carhome to "show up" on their app drawer? I've downloaded the app, it shows installed under settings but will not show in my app drawer. I know CarhomeLauncher goes hand-in-hand but I can't seem to locate CarhomeLauncher. Carhome worked flawlessly on the Official Team D1-MIUI-10.22-V5.X Release. Thanks in advance for any help. Fantastic experience using this rom.

I had a couple issues after restoring apps with titanium, so I wiped a bunch of times then installed 6.2 and took the time to reinstall all my apps via the market. Now I am all set and everything is working perfectly!

Cannot say how much I love this app enough!

Don't bother. That pushing apk stuff is for the birds.

Just install K9 from the market.

Tap "Mount R/W" button in upper right hand corner. /system/app defaults to read-only (r/o)

I use "appbackup" free from Market and Ive had no issue restoring apps w/any rom including MIUI. I recommend to wipe(data,cache,Sd ext, boot..etc) thru Clockwork and istall a fresh d/l copy from OP and you should be ok Trick. If not, your Droid has got a serious case of hatorade for MIUI

I've been using Miui from day one and the only problems I had was the same for everyone. So far RM is the only problem I have with this release. No Clue why. I took all the advices. I even did another clean install and installed all my apps from the market not TB. I tried clearing the data for RM. I tried uninstalling but no luck with Fc's. I also did a fix permission through RM. I guess Ill have to deal with it for now. Cuz I really love this release. I think its the fastest and smoothest release so far. dancedroid

Yeah, you need CarHomeLauncher.apk which was not present on this build. You should be able to pull it from somewhere else and place it in /system/app, then make sure the permissions match the rest of the apps in /system/app or it won't work.

Settings > Programs > Manage Applications > ROM Manager
Clear data

Should fix the problem with RM

Thanks that was an easy alternative, i know i could have downloaded the YAHOO email app but that app sucks it takes forever to Update...

Try opening the build in 7-Zip or WinRAR without unzipping. Go into /system/app in the .zip and drag CarHomeLauncher.apk onto your desktop. Connect USB and put it on your SD Card, and move it into /system/app using Root Explorer. Then change the permissions to match the rest of the apps in /system/app.

Reboot, and you should be set.
