Official Thread: Gingerbread Leak With Root! Get It Now!

.595-odexed reboot loop

Have the compass/gyro issues been fixed in .595? I'm on .573 and miss the google sky and google earth working correctly. 595-odexed not working for me. 1. I SBF'd back to stock froyo, then full wiped, then bypassed the Verizon setup 2. Connected to WiFi, set up my Google account, went to market for droid x recovery. 3. Installed z4root, perm rooted, installed Droid X Recovery 4. Rebooted recovery, installed 595-odexed.zip 5. Found myself in a boot loop, restarted recovery and did a full wipe. I'm about to try another wipe before SBF'ing again. Any other suggestions would be very welcome! Daniel

I know that I am going to sound like a total moron, but here goes. I am currently running a rooted version of Froyo. Can I update to gingerbread and still maintain root? Or what would your recommendations be?

Going back to Froyo....i have had too many issues with GB. I have tried Broodcomb 2.0, Liberty GB, and the stock GB leak. All have had issues with the car dock, desk dock, as well as market video apps that completely freeze up the OS. And after you take out battery it takes 15 minutes to finally boot into the OS. The gmail has also had bugs where it keeps showing me Unread emails but none show up on the gmail app. Not till i use a physical computer does it show me which one was not read. It also drops the 3G connnection continuously. I had arranged a wire transfer to go out yesterday but it was stuck in outbox because of no 3G. I missed my deadline. Bottom line i will wait till the official version comes out. Back to Froyo.

Can someone clarify that you can go from .588 to .595

I have a friend who was stock and applied the .588 update through stock recovery and now wants to go to .595 so that he can accept the official OTA.

i have the gb .573 can somebody tell me how to upgrade to .595 and what is the main difference between them ..thanks

Bootloop on odexed .595 after bootstrapped

Twice I've installed .595 odexed on my phone and after using Droid 2 bootstrap recovery and trying to reboot to recovery I go into a boot loop.
Any fixes out there for this? I've searched but no luck.

The odex 595 is bad...um the is a updated link on mydroidworld.com. thread named path to update..... goodluck.....btw 595 will not let you update/or root. The official has the exploit included, and will take some new method to root.

Fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail

Tried numerous times to update as instructed and yup you guessed it FAIL! BOOT LOOP! Heading back to perform full sbf again back to 2.3.340

So let me get this correct, this directions aren't too clear on the path.

So you can't go straight from 2.3.340 to this, right, you will have to go to another gb build say .588 then to this?

I'm currently on .591... and rooted. But none of my rooted apps (Droid X Overclock, AdFree, SuperManager) will work because Busybox doesn't seem to work with it. Is Busybox working in this newer rooted build? I don't mind not having Busybox, because right now it's smooth not OCed and I'm getting the greatest battery life ever. Around 24 hours under normal usage. But if Busybox is working, then I'm upgrading to this. Also... do I NEED to wipe before I do this? Or, like the other upgrades, can I just flash it over?

Thanks for all the hard work guys!
