Older Official D1-MIUI-0.12.11.0

is there any reason why my theme manager refuses to work? i choose the theme, hit reboot now, and it just launches me back to my home screen and to wear i can add screens. I've uninstalled reinstalled it, that did nothing.

fix permissions on it.

that's always the first thing I do, still didn't have any luck. not a big deal, was just wondering about it.

for everyone wondering why their apps aren't showing up, it would help if you read through some of the thread -

To those who wiped, is anyone having a problem with the market showing their apps? I only see purchased apps.

yes, this is because i added the newer Gapps (frg83d)

I tried your recommendation and unforunately it didn't work. Just to be clear you meant go under the market app and delete data and cache, not the droid overclock app right?
I'm finding a few of my Apps no longer in the market. Tried everything, ended up going back to 12.3. Any ideas why Apps might be missing?

Same here. I started using the Droid Overclock app recently and for some reason it doesn't appear in the market for me anymore after flashing 12.11 . I reinstalled it from titanium backup, so at least I still have it. Didn't notice any others missing so far.

Try going into manage apps and then erase the data, cache, and restart your phone. That should do the trick.

That looks a little too complicated for this guy. On a side note, I appreciate all the knowledge you spread on here - you've taught me quite a bit...

I'm going to try out this ModInstallLocation quick and see what I think.

Left field - just took my screen protector off and I'm a nervous wreck. I know the gorilla glass is a beast, but I just know I'm going to nick it up somehow... However, boy does my phone feel smooth without it :)

ive had my screen protector off for a while now, and i dont have a single mark on the actual glass. i have my phone in my pocket with keys and coins and everything in-between and not a mark...the housing is another story lol

I love how it looks, and I can definitely see a resolution difference (especially with photos), however I am having one issue -

Scrolling on web pages, especially in landscape view. It appears that my screen protector made for a smoother experience. My fingers keep getting stuck when I go to scroll... Weird.

So, does this mean I have to wait for the app developer? I've cleared data and cache in the market app, still not all my paid apps are present?[/QUOTE]

Thats weird. I downloaded my apps manaully then cleared data from market and rebooted. All my apps are showing. Paid and the free ones :icon_eek:

Is the glass really scratch proof?? I've been wanting to remove my screen guard.

Also, is there a way to remove the stock messaging app then? I just wanna replace it with handcent and don't wanna see the little red 1 on the stock msg app even after turning off the notifications.

I've never used a screen protector on my Droid and the glass is still spotless. It's amazing. All smartphones should be using gorilla glass. Period.

I haven't used a screen protector since I got my Droid in February. Screen is still perfect without even the smallest hair of a scratch (and I look for them really meticulously). Look up some videos online about it. There was one with a kid who ran a sharp key across his screen aggressively with no scratches at all. After watching this, I tried it myself at a party to show some friends. It was scary, but the screen didn't have a single scratch.

that probably has something to do with the adhesive that was on the back of the screen cover, and the fact that nothing has really touched the actual screen...itll wear off and will be smooth soon.

Gorilla glass is not "scratch proof", but as with ALL glass it is highly scratch resistant. Anything with a equal or higher relative hardness level will scratch it, and glass is very hard.

Things that will scratch glass:
- Sand/silicates/ceramics (Glass is made of sand)
- Diamonds
- Crystals such as quartz and other hard minerals
- Hardened steel

Not much else will scratch glass, Gorilla Glass is just a particularly hard formulation of glass, which is a relatively hard compound in any formulation. I tint windows in homes/commercial buildings and run razor sharp blades across glass all the time and I can attest that glass is very hard to scratch.

Unless you live by the beach or somewhere where you are surrounded by sand, or you wear diamond earrings, using a screen protector is actually pretty ridiculous. A very small percentage of smartphone users would be well served by a screen protector - that won't keep people from trying to sell them to you though.

im always wearing diamond earrings lol, and swarovski but seeing as the point of the gem isnt on the front facing portion of the earring, it doesnt pose much of a harm. not unless you feel the need to jam the phone into your ear like a cotton swab :P lol

edit: that made me sound like such an uppety douche...i swear im not haha

It's actually funny because when my girlfriend bought an HTC Evo from Sprint she brought it back with a screen protector on it because the Sprint employee that sold her the phone convinced her that is was necessary. I told her to take it off because "it would take a diamond to scratch that screen".

Neither of us took into account the fact that she wears diamond earrings on a daily basis. So when she began to notice a few tiny surface scratches on the touchscreen, the culprit was pretty obvious. But the scratches were so small that she didn't bother to put a screen protector back on (and she has a whole package of them), and she still wears diamond earrings every day. So even rubbing against diamond earrings (and diamonds are the hardest substance on Earth) the scratches will be minimal.

Dont kno if this is already covered..but if i want the new market,do i use root explorer system/app/màrket updater‹delete?..reboot,
then install new market apk?

Do not delete or over ride market updater. The one you want to replace is Vending.apk. Use root explorer paste in the app rename it and set permissions.
