GOT SWYPE WORKING BABY! I uninstalled swype, deleted everything swype on my sdcard, deleted dalvik cache, wiped cache, re-installed installer thru email then BAM! SWYPE WORKING!

is it possible to pull apps from miui to another rom if i switch...ive asked about the contacts widget but what about the sms app? or what about the custom animations i love em but this roms not running to good on my phone

Yes. SMS I'm not sure about. I sent it to someone once and it didn't work but that could be from a number of reasons. But, you should be able to take most of the apps. The music you can use, the BA's, pretty much any app in the system.

Hello everybody! New to this ROM and loving it! Just one quirk with it and I haven't been able to find anything about it in the forums. The default lock screen music controls only control the MIUI music player. I prefer PowerAmp but when I'm using it and I try to use the controls it just opens up the built in music player and starts playing a song over the song PowerAmp is playing. I can't find any setting to change this. Does anybody know if its possible to use the lockscreen controls with a different program? Other than that I really enjoy this ROM!

Well I just used root explorer and took the Music.apk from /system/app inside another rom. Then I copied it into this rom under /system/app and renamed it MiuiMusic.apk and deleted the original MiuiMusic.apk. Reboot then the lockscreen controls the stock Music app. Hope that helps.

Yes sir, cloclworkmod, I'd like to thank all the users for help, I was just about to give up on this rom til next update, I really appreciate the input, never had to do so much to get swype working but u guys's help kept me on this rom right now

Ok, after researching the issue on another forum, I typed the following commands:

su (enter)
mount -0 remount,rw -t yaffs2 /system
rm /system/app/Gmail.apk
rm /system/app/VoiceSearch.apk
rm /system/app/GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
reboot

and then, after reboot, went to market, and reinstalled the apps. Everything works great now.

Not that i find the instructions here hard to follow but I have been wondering why there wasn't a 12.11.1 to do this so the new users could easily use the ROM. Also itji is easier for some of us near beginners not to figure out the terminal instructions on our own.


That said I have also wondered how to split my donations to Jamzelle and Metick.

Someone posted a thread with metamorph that will work on any rom. Do a search. The miui transitions only work with miui.

Its in beta & u have to be apart of their beta program to get it, they're are hacked versions out there but trying to find it thru this forum will get u "disciplined" I believe
