I'm part of the swype beta test and it doesn't work on this rom no swype. I think some people got it to work but I can't get mine to.

Trust me u should get it to work, it took me a while I was about to lose hope, read the last few pages & you'll find the info that I used & u should be good to go, (swyping this right now)

Ok, after researching the issue on another forum, I typed the following commands:

su (enter)
mount -0 remount,rw -t yaffs2 /system
rm /system/app/Gmail.apk
rm /system/app/VoiceSearch.apk
rm /system/app/GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
reboot

and then, after reboot, went to market, and reinstalled the apps. Everything works great now.

Not that i find the instructions here hard to follow but I have been wondering why there wasn't a 12.11.1 to do this so the new users could easily use the ROM. Also itji is easier for some of us near beginners not to figure out the terminal instructions on our own.


That said I have also wondered how to split my donations to Jamzelle and Metick.

sorry this is fixed in the new release(the one im working on right now that is (0.12.17.0)), market syncs and IIRC gmail updates fine.

People who are having trouble with swype, delete everything on your phone that is swype related and reboot. Then open up your swype beta email and download the installer. Everything should work fine now.
This is just coming from my personal experience and several other members on the board who had trouble with swype.

Same here, and I was frustrated to the point of giving up. I finally found the fix that worked for me.

Reboot into CW, delete dalvik cache, wipe cache, then start from scratch with the first Swype installer.

I wiped and flashed and everything was great. Then I made a backup and rebooted. Once I rebooted, I am having force closes every 7 or so seconds. It says android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. What am I doing wrong?

Not sure what may have happened. You can just shutdown/reboot into recovery/and just re-flash the Rom with no wipe. Before backing up again I would flash a alt recovery in Rom manager, and then flash clockwork back and then do a back up.

Also, I use launcherpro and when I try to restore my backed up settings it says error make sure the sd card is accessible or something like that

First off nothing has happened in this thread currently to spur this post but I am forced to post here because of a blowup in another thread and I want everyone to see this. Secondly I'm sorry that those that just want to help further development and enjoy this ROM are being constantly subjected to daily fighting and bickering surrounding MIUI. A few are spoiling it for the many and this can't go on any longer.

With that said I'm going to paste the warning from the other thread so EVERYONE see's it. This will eventually put a stop to this so that EVERONE may get back to enjoying the ROM and this section.

Guys in all seriousness this nonsense has run it's course. I am fair and DO NOT like to have to get involved in these things but these MIUI threads have been long overdue for some much needed attention.

The moderating team of DF's have been given permission to implement the 3 Strike rule to anyone participating in or instigating any bickering/fighting.

3 Strikes means just that. 3 strikes and you are out, for good. Sorry gentlemen. I DO NOT like to do this but I have been left with no other recourse. Your privileges here are in your hands.

i've been dealing with this for two days now. it didn't happen on Miui at all, but when i tried flashing UD2.5, it happened. i tried CM6.1.2 and the same thing. the only thing i've been able to think of is Zeam. i don't know if this has anything to do with it, but when i don't restore Zeam, i doesn't happen. i used Zeam with Miui, though, and had no problems. someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks for the post cereal. I would like to see people be a little nicer here in this forum. All of the fighting is a lot of the reason for my inactivity in the forums lately.

But on another note I'm chomping at the bit waiting for the new rom to hit. I hope the random reboot issue has been fixed.
