Overclock - A REAL new phone experience.

So, after a few days of running 800mhz and then using my own custom setup, I find it no faster than 550mhz, so I've gone back to the original kernel, which also doesn't have some of the backlight quirks I've found with the overclock kernels.

Now I will say that 800mhz was way faster than 550mhz on some of the other ROMs out there, like Bugless Beast and AdamZ's smoked glass ROM. On my own configuration, it makes little difference.

Try my backup that I posted in this thread...it hauls ;)

I run GDE as my home app, and the difference has been impressive, to say the least. If you had a very "stock" setup, then I can see the 800 MHZ not making a big difference. For me, it changed everything.

I'm running beautiful beast 2.1 with 800mhz and no home replacement app...and I don't notice a lick of difference.

Nope. Far from it. I am rooted, have busybox installed with my own custom symlinks.

I am still working on it.

IMO, Smoked Glass theme takes a bigger hit on performance than GDE does.

Yes, I have used both.

I don't notice that it is "really slow" so it's not worth the effort for me to move to something else. I like the look of the BB.

that background is an EPIC WIN

I will post it before I go to bed.

suhweeeettttt lol. thanks. haha that statement was so.. to the point.

by the way. droidforums. all my new friends... i fully charged me droid this morning til 7 am. then i went to school. it died by three. it was OC'ed to 800mhz. i fully recharged it again. and it went down to 40% after using it for 30 mins straight. that seems rediculous to me. so now. i will be running a mix of 800 and stock 550... i also had my profiles set... so yeah. overclocking takes a MAJOR toll on your battery's charge

just thought i would let ya know :D

I haven't had any issues. But I also immediately lock the phone as soon as I am done using whatever, I don't keep WiFi on unless I am actively using it, and same with Bluetooth.
