Kid, you know absolutely nothing about me or my financial situation. Because I said that there is nothing they could do to me, your innate tendency towards jealousy automatically made you assume that I made that statement because "I am rich".
That was the first conclusion you jumped to, because were you to make the comment, that would undoubtedly be the reason. That says more about you than it does me.
As I said, you assume that is why I said it and it simply doesn't occur to you that there may be other reasons why there is nothing they can do to me. None of the reasons, the correct or incorrect ones has anything to do with being tough. It has nothing to do with convincing you or anyone else.
You or someone made a claim that the VZW Stormtroopers could ruin my credit and hurt my financially for years to come, and I simply made a statement of fact, "No they can't".
It is a fact that they cannot, and the reasons why are irrelevant. It is what it is and has nothing to do with being rich, and the irony of your assertions is making actually laugh as I sit here typing this.
So take your own advice kid, and stop trying to convince yourself. You don't know my situation, and if you did, you too would see the irony, I guarantee it.

I don't know why but posts like ^ make this forum extremely interesting to read. Almost as fun as watching American Dad or Family Guy but far more "real life." Awww, you guys had to take it to PMs.

Just curious...and don't expect anyone to really have the answer...but in theory...if I pay for every stinkin service that Verizon offers to me...I mean, I add data service for smartphones, I add unlimited talk and text and mail and everything else they offer...I add the Mobile Hotspot feature. If I do all this and I still root just so I can have access to the file system and maybe run a custom kernel. Will they still throttle me down just because I do not accept the OTA updates? That is just plain silly. I am not stealing anything from them. I pay over $150 bucks per month for one line. I got an Adroid phone so I could have some freedom, not so I can rip them off. I rarely go over 1.8 mb per month. Most months I am under 1 mb. If anything they have ripped me off by not rolling over my unused minutes and mb allowances (which I have none because I am unlimited, but in theory).
I guess I just needed to vent. I know there is no answer to any of this.

Nobody knows what they will really do yet. They may go after rooting because it ALLOWS free tethering, whether you actually do it or not doesn't matter.
Kind of like having an open beer can in the car with you. You may not drink it, but just having it there lands you in trouble.
And you do bring up a good point, unused data or minutes.
Now, with unlimited, you can make the argument that you have unlimited and if you choose to only use 1mb that is your decision.
But if they go to a tiered data plan, and you are paying for 1gb, and don't use it, will they give you "rollover data"?
