Awesome Dude! What City Is That?

New York, NY

The building being constructed on the far right is the new world trade center tower.

Ive been trying to get a night shot bc the lights are so beautiful. I'll hook you up once I get it.

Yes, I'd Really Appreciate That.

City Is Nice Looking But I Could Never Live There.

Yeah, NYC isn't for everyone. You gotta be able to take a shove or random outburst from a stranger without taking it personally. Otherwise, you'll end up fighting a million people everyday.

So, I'm all set up to start flashing to GB 2.3.3 with P3's Pre-Root. I was wondering how you went about backing up all of your stuff before doing the following: (Please correct me if i'm incorrect in sequence or anything like that)

1. Factory Reset via SBF

2. Install System Recover (Bootstrap)

3. Download P3's Pre-Root, Unzip the file, transfer to SD, open in phone

Question: With the System Recover and Pre-Root, am I placing the files in the Files > SD Card or just Files? And is "Files" = external sd?

No, Factory Reset Is In Android Recovery. Power Off. Hold Volume Down And Power Until You See 'Fastboot' Hit The Volume Down Until You See 'Android Recovery' Press Volume Up Once. Wait For The Triangle Press Both Volume Rockers Together. Volume Keys Move The Highlight For Selection. Power Is The Enter Key. Volume Down Twice (I Think) Then Press Power Button Wait For It To Finish. Press The Volume Up To Select Reboot. Now You Can Activate(*228), Install Recovery, And Flash Pre-Root.

SBF Is For Bricked Devices, Bootloops, System Crashing. (Constant Force Closes)

Thanks, Mike. I just aborted the factory reset because i forgot to back up everything.

I'm good with all my gmail stuff. I know I can use Titanium to backup the rest of it, but i'm not sure how and where to locate the backup files in the phone and put them in my computer. Could you help me out a little more pretty please with a cherry on top??

Mike, are you around? I'm stuck. :(

Nevermind... I figured out the problem. Mike, you would be so proud of me.

The problem I had was expressed at this link:
[Q] Problems installing pre-rooted gingerbread. - xda-developers

Which led me to this link:
UPDATED - [HOW-TO] SBF back to stock Froyo, Update to P3Droids Pre-Rooted GB Update - xda-developers

Ultimately, leading to the source of the man himself, P3Droid's website:
Official Gingerbread for the Droid X2 - 2.3.3/4.5.1A-DTN-117-15 (Rooted)

Phone is currently installing from the update.zip file. I should've been smarter and gone straight to the source - P3.

I'll update as soon the update.zip is done installing. Been working at this four 3 hours now. I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight. It's a school night! :(

****UPDATE**********

The installation of GB 2.3.3 was successful. I had to root it using MotorolaOneClickRoot_psouza4 because titanium backup was telling me it was not rooted.

I don't know why... but titanium backup is not showing me a list of apps like before with 2.2.2. Can I get some help with this?

Also, everything in the app market seemed to be free or am i just hallucinating from not sleeping? If it's supposed to be that way, I think i updated the app market by accident. Is there a way to reverse this?

Thanks,

Bry

***************************************UPDATE AGAIN!!!!

LOL sorry about the past two days. I totally flooded the hell out of this thread. Anyhow, i fixed the titanium problem. All I need to do was a simple reboot.

You're still the man, Mike.

I Went To Bed At Midnight Need My Sleep But Back To 'Work' Now.

Download Script Manager Free In The Market. Then You Can Download The 3G Script From My Sticky. The Directions Are Pretty Clear, If You Need More Help I Will Post Screenshots Not Only For You But Others Too.

Google Search These Words: 'Wireless Tether Google Code' It Should Be The First Link And You Can Download It For Free. Otherwise Let Me Know And I'll Upload It Here For You.

I followed your directions for the 3G Script. The following showed up on the script manager. Let me know if this is right:

exec sh '/mnt/sdcard-ext/3GTurboChargerInstallerUpdate3_test_8_.sh'
# card-ext/3GTurboChargerInstallerUPdate3_test_8.sh'
