Post Your Weather Pictures

As the droughts are lining up it looks like that rain might have been a welcome sight down there in Texas even tho it made for bad driving.

Also nice night shot of LA btw. How did that Pacific storm turn out?

@pala: glad the storm stayed off the coast and didn't ravage the coastline.

Also to everyone from the midwest to the deep south watch out for the record breaking heat.

I imagine its aproaching 100 near the gulf ain't it? Hopefully the dew points aren't too high down there

If it wasnt for the recent showers, the heat index would be around 100. Its saying 80 now, but theres a thunderstorm over us now. Luckily, there havent been any bad ones. But we're having thunderstorm warnings daily. We need the rain, though.

Looks as if there are thunderstorms firing in southern AL & MS. These might have a chance to be severe so heads up y'all.

Also firing in southern LA

Hi chevy, in ct last night we had a powerful thunderstorm and downpour with some hail in many areas but in our house we were lucky and still had power. Our son, daughter in law and 5 day old grandson lost power and managed to get to our house for the night. So we officially enjoyed our first sleepoveras grand parents! Very exciting. He's our first grandchild and his name is Brody :-) dancedroid:icon_ banana:dancedroiddancedroid

@red: Congrats on the addition to the family. I know he is a handful. Hope ya'll didn't receive any damage from that storm. Keep the family and Brody safe up there.

@jwalz: Wow I bet that one foot of slush froze and kept that snow around for a while. Looks like the little one enjoyed his time in it. This winter was definitely harsh for the northeast. Ya'll got one storm after another.

@chevy .....what a trip it is being a grandparent! Even in bad weather you can have fun as long as you respect mother nature's great power. Can't wait to teach Brody how to ice skate like I did when his dad was little :-) You guys in North Carolina have our Whalers now (Hurricanes) but we still get better snow up here (lol). Enjoying your weather alerts...keep up the good work. Have a good weekend.

I bet it is and im sure he will take to ice skating with no problem. yea hurricane season is here and this year might be an active system because there is no "El Niño" or "La Niña" system in the south Pacific. Those systems create wind shear which helps stop hurricanes from forming in the Atlantic. With no systems in place to cut off the tops of the hurricanes the East Coast might have an active season. Hopefully boarding up the house in Atlantic Beach wont be a normal thing. Also y'all do get the best snow on the East coast though. Only place here in NC to enjoy snow all winter is the mountains but that's a 4hr drive from where I am. Ya'll have a good weekend too and no problem on the updates. Imma try to get the updates more often if i can

@chevy...great explanation of La nina and El nino. I always get confused about that. Hope you get to enjoy the beach house and don't have to board it up very often. Also note that gas is finally below $4, we all need to pray that the hurricanes this season don't go up the gulf coast and destroy those wells and refineries there this season....better yet just pray for a less active season than they are forecasting.
