[TOOLS] R3L3AS3DRoot and 43V3R root for the BIONIC v2.1

I think so. Mine was the same way as yours and if you follow the video all the way through, you will end up rooted. It worked excellent!

that nailed it! thanks buddy. now, should i accept the ota or not? thanks a million!

Just want to make sure ...

This release will restore a phone system partition to .886 or .893!!?? The top states either, but the screenshot and option 4 states will restore the system to .886 -- keeping the kernel and radio. Makes no mention of .893. Just an older screenshot??

EDIT: Never mind -- just realized the .893 reference only applies to the ROOT and FOREVER ROOT and not the RESTORE function. :(

Was going over how to unroot my bionic and came across your thread. Did you ever get unrooted? Can you instruct me if so?

This is the error I get... I am on the latest OTA and have windows 7 32 bit. I did try to root yesterday with pete's tool but it failed. Anybody know what is going wrong?
option1....after installing stock and your phone booted, don't log on to your google acct first...skip all, then put your USB to charge only mode, and turn on your USB Debugging.

or you can use this one.... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12050927/1-click_exploit.zip

I'm really trying not to lose everything... The link you posted to the one click. Can that be reversed by the original program I am trying to use?

Well, I said screw it and did it the one click method, which used the same method as the other one except this time it hung at the same spot a few times and then worked,.. Now hopefully I will never have to unroot it! Thanks!

Yes, option one (1) After you have followed the procedure you will be rooted. Then go into settings, about phone, system update and download and install the update.

thank you kindly for your reply and help . so far it seems im re rooted and , rebooting now from the update install ... now in this root mod , theres an option to install something called "cheesecake.apk " to install OTA updates , should i add that as well ? and does that mean if i do from now on rooted or not i can accept OTA updates ?

I'm not sure on that but I don't think you have to....and you should get the updates and still be rooted.
