[Release] D1-MIUI-0.11.26.1

to be completely honest, i cant stand using LP or ADW now with MIUI. i absolutely love the stock launcher lol not sure why but i do. if i had to choose another launcher i think it'd be zeam. but for some reason, the stock launcher looks so sick especially when theres no slider.

have you tried flashing an earlier version of MIUI then just flashing the newer versions all the way up to the newest, without wiping? i understand thats not the KOSHER way of doing things but it may work. and if you like it that much, it might be worth a try.

I've done 100 plus wipes and I've had all the problems above. The only fix for me is this.

Download rom manager install clockwork, then reboot, then power off, then power button and X.

Once in clockwork wipe data and cache 3 times, then wipe cache 3 times. Then go to advanced wipe dalvik, then battery, then go back and manually wipe each partition once boot, data, system, cache, and SD ext. Then go back to main screen and wipe data cache once more.

Then install rom, also leave rom you downloaded in download folder and install from there.

I know it sounds like alot of steps but I've had amazing results with this process.

There is no need to EVER wipe more than once. You are wiping nothing after that. And the wipe data and cache option does just that... no need to wipe cache again...

Wiping more than once is just placebo. I'm sorry. 1s and 0s don't lie. Wipe means wipe. Not wipe somewhat and try again.

Ok, if thats true then why are there programs that can recovery files after you "wipe" once?

If that were true there would be no way to recover files after they were deleted.

Also, this is why there are programs that write 0's and 1's to hdds hundreds of times to "wipe" them.

Just my .02

You are insuring that there is a very small chance there is something left that will interfere with the installation.

No you're not taking any such chance. Those programs you speak of are for SECURE wiping of sensetive data. Sure with recovery software you can recover files that haven't been securely erased, but there is no need to go all "secure" with an android factory reset wipe. You don't have to format your hard drive on a pc more than once to install an os. Same with android. End of story. When I say there is nothing more to wipe, that means there is nothing there to interfere with installation.

I have never wiped more than once. No problems to this day. Ask any dev and they will back me up. One time is alll that is needed.

so no one knows why my phone is locking up when i plug it into the computer to sync? its rather annoying since i get on to sync stuff all the time

Im not sure why it's locking up. What exactly are you trying to transfer back and forth? Depending on what it is you can buy one of the apps for wireless sync or grab an SD card adapter for about 8 dollars if it's music or anything like that

anything. its not locking up while transferring, it locks up right as the usb cord goes in. therefore not being able to get to any of my files. i dont really want to buy something else when its worked perfectly in the past. didnt start happening until these last couple roms. i guess i can try formatting my sdcard and see what happens

Yeah, I understand. Any way you can make a copy of your SD? That'd be perfect if you're formatting

+1 only one wipe needed, wiping 2-3 more times is a waste of time. end of story.

do this in adb after one wipe

Code:
adb shell
mount /data
mount /cache
ls -la /data
ls -la /cache
df -h

the first to commands well do what they say they mount data and cache, if you get an error it means its already mounted no worries. the second two commands show you what all is on each partition. after a wipe all you should see is lost+found, which means the partition is formatted.

df -h shows you the spaced used/free on the mounted partitions.

I have looked and I will ask again, is there a way to backup both SMS and MMS messages from say a Project Elite rom and import them to MIUI? I have used SMS backup and restore but that only works for SMS but I haven't found a way to import my titanium backups of MMS messages. Any help would be appreciated cause I like MIUI but i have some MMS messages that I would like to keep, its my only stopper for not completely switching to MIUI.
