[ROM] [RELEASE] Steel Droid: 5.0 Gingerbread - 1-11-2013

Could you make 2 versions of the next release, if possible? Like one with the bloat ware and the other without. Because some of the apps thats uninstalled i cant reinstall.

Will we be able to redownload maps and gmail ? and is there any way this can permanently brick your phone ?

You can download both Maps and Gmail from the Market.

Anytime you are flashing ROMs or making mods, you run the risk of bricking your phone. Thankfully, due to a lot of hard work in the D3 community, a hard brick is fairly uncommon.

I did some one-click (few step) iPod/iPad jailbreaking, recently moved over to the Dark side...

This is a marketing statement that is pure genius. Android as the dark side to iPhone as the "goodie two shoes." Kids in Nerf and safety helmets playing with iphones...hackers / I. T. guys / basic "against the sytem" crowd with dark side Droids.

Love it.

:-) I think the YouTube video "htc evo vs iPhone4" puts it better, even a jail broken iPhone can't do what a stock droid can, apple is so restrictive with their OS.

Big thanks out to everyone that make the "dark side" what it is!

Just for clarification once the zip files are applied (steel droid or status bar) the actual '.zip' files are no longer needed? I can delete them off the sd card?

problems with ROM install

I am working on theming it right now. Next release wont look too much like stock.

First I want to say THANK YOU for all your work I used custom ROMs on my Droid1 and since i got my Droid3 I've been waiting for one. I followed the instructions, but it seemed to get stuck on running the RSDlite with the xml file, it sees the phone and when I click Start it fails.. only one time it went through step 4 but then it failed..
Do you have any suggestions??

Any hint of when it will be for the next update to come out? I cant wait! !
Btw thank you so much for your works.

An SBF back to stock using rsdlite, or in case you are lucky and made a nandroid of your stock system.
