Return my HTC Rezound today for Galaxy Nexus

I have a question, when I got my nexus it had a colorful wallpaper kinda looked like the northern lights or something. When I tried the others to see what they looked like this wallpaper isn't in the wallpaper section to pick from, what the hell happen to it?

It was awesome, I'm not talking about this wallpaper in the dancing smile here DancingNexus.

It looked like the northern lights is the best way I can describe it. Thanks

1. Rooting and unlocking on this phone is easier than any other phone I have rooted - I did use the one-click on the Thunderbolt and it is just as easy as that if you use a one-click. If you try to do it the regular way it is also easy so long as you can read :P

2. What colors were in the original wallpaper? Was it similar to the one in the dancing nexus? Have you checked live wallpapers?

3. Unlocking and Rooting will NOT block OTA updates but ROMing will so make sure you make an nandroid of stock before you change ROMs so you can always go back to stock.

I think you made a good call.

After getting my Nexus, I was wondering if I was missing out on the Rezound. I spent a lot of time playing with and wondering about it, but ultimately chose the Nexus for several reasons.

First, the dated look of the Rezound didnt appeal to me as much as the slick and current Nexus. Not that big a deal, but it bothered me for some reason. Secondly, the smoothness of the OS and the very slick appearance of the screen. I just like the screen a bit better on the Nexus than the Rezound. Lastly, and very important, in a few months the Rezound will be relegated to old phone status. Not the Rezound's fault, it is the nature of technology. The Nexus is somewhat insulated from this fact. Being a Nexus, it will get quick updates, and will not stop getting them as newer phones come out. The only way to acquire this is to go with the Google phone.

The lack of crapware on the phone is nice too.

After letting the 15th of January come and go, I am glad I stayed with GN. I dont know exactly what has caused it, and I never had any issues with it anyway, but my battery seems to be getting better and better. Easily making it through the day with moderate to slightly heavy use. And the screen just amazes me and everyone to whom I show it. The device is spectacular and only stands to get better as they update it. Also, now that I am getting used to Android 4.0, I am starting to see what the big deal is. I would never want to go back to anything older.

I'm still enjoying the Nexus so far, after a couple days I have to say there are a few aspect of the Rezound I miss. The screen is better on the Rezound in some aspects and on the Nexus in other aspects.

The rezound is perfectly clear, but the blacks BLOW on it. The nexus has better color and PERFECT blacks, but the focus isn't as nice as the rezound. I feel if you could combine the displays you'd have the perfect display, like maybe if the rezound was led lcd to correct the blacks.

I just like the Nexus better, but after a few days there is no doubt the radio is better on the rezound. i've had no major issue, but if the future update makes the right tweeks this could be the perfect phone!

Root...unlock....flash codename 1.1.4. Flash IMO kernel 1.7.1 exp1...flash jakebites leantweaks...run leantweaks in terminal...enable Zram enable swap...set interactivex Max freq 1350. Reboot....enjoy amazing battery life more vivid colors (kernel has color tweak done by Franco)

It has a butt load more features....better battery life....no lag at all...do that on a rezound

Welcome and make yourself at home in the dev community because you now have the same phone they all do.

That in itself beats a good camera and beatz audio

"Shoulda" Gotten a Nexus:biggrin:

LOL. They are both great phones, be happy you didnt get stuck with a Razr.

Aaww.... :frown:

I had time with all 3. All 3 are great...in their own way. I do like one the most over all 3 tho, with another a close 2nd...

I agree with the OP about the screens. I see why so many ppl like the Rezounds. A perfect or close to perfect screen is a marriage between the one on the G Nex and Rezound

I started having issue with this phone, call quality is unacceptable at times, I haven't lost data connection when being on 3G, or 4G, but when I switch from my wifi to Verizon 3G I have to reboot phone to connect to Verizon's network and that go's both ways, same issue going from Verizon's network to wifi.

I almost missed a VERY IMPORTANT call for a job interview, the person calling couldn't hear me and I had to run outside for them to hear me, they called me back on my wife's rezound without issues. I'll be honest, I'd love this phone over all others if not for the issues I started having.

I went to the Verizon store to get the Rezound back and was informed you can only exchange once during the 14 day period after that your stuck with the phone for 2 years. I did NOT KNOW THIS, I though you could exchange until your happy.

I tried calling corporate and was told the same thing, they offered me a chance to upgrade a line 6 months early but it couldn't be a 4G phone which would still leave me stuck with a 300 dollar phone I'm not happy with. I threaten to cancel my service after being a EIGHT YEAR customer that has never been disconnected for non payment. All they told me was there will be a 350 dollar ETF for each line and I'd still be charged 300 for the Nexus on top of that.

They keep telling me at the store and on the phone a update will fix it, I'm so pissed at myself because I said I would not chance this and did it anyway. Don't get me wrong I love the phone if it would just work.

So I'm in a position now that I either improve these issues with unlocking and rooting, or I cancel my Verizon service after 8 years and don't pay them a penny,I'll fight it in court before I pay them.

I'm so sick to my stomach, anyway will rooting help my issues? If so where do I go for a step by step for dummies? I can read and follow direction, but I've never hacked anything in my life.....

you just made 1 of the biggest mistake of your life and I can promise you that you will regret buying the phone

Really? I doubt a cell phone purchase comes close to one of the biggest mistakes of my life. But yes I regret is now.

Stock Android 4 does NOT support embedding facebook images automatically into contacts. There are some alternatives; SyncPics will do the same thing, but it doesn't do it automatically, just whenever you sync it.

Sorry, the app didn't show any responses to the post for some reason, haha. I apologize for stating what has already been beaten to death. XD
