[ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

Mine is about the same at 5 hrs 1.35 ULV. I will say, however, that this rom with the revo theme is just as fast as focused is no joke. I must have had a bad install before or a tweaked setting before when it was laggy. Revo theme is amazing, all transitions work. I personally like the lock sliders different. So much good and no bad yet knock on wood...

Only minor gripe I have is I still have to manually get rid of the damn verizon banner lol. Maybe version 1.2.2 could do that automatically like the rubix themes do?

-The Blur Email app (default email app) will FC if you do not have an account added through My Accounts. Just add an account first.

Hey Fab,

I think the "FC" of the BlurEmail is because you have Messaging.apk backed up (.bak) by default. The BlurEmail uses Messaging.apk. If you install Messaging.apk by default, the BlurEmail will kick into Messaging (instead of kicking you to the previous screen) if you don't have any accounts set up.

Not sure there's a good way to handle this because if you decide to enable/disable Messaging.apk through your Email script (instead of your Messaging script) and then you enable the Mot Email (BlurEmail) and enable the AOSP MMS, you'll have a Text Messaging icon in Messaging that won't link to anything.

Anyone having issues with Corporate Email using ApeX 1.0.2.2? I came from ApeX 1.0 and my corporate email, contacts, and calendar were working flawlessly (after I added the Blur apks back in).

In 1.0.2.2 my corporate email seems to messed up. It syncs fine when I initially set up the account, but then it will randomly kick me out of email back to the previous screen, when I get new mail it gets two copies of each email, and eventually it gives me a connection error and then winds up re-syncing the entire inbox again.

My other emails (POP and IMAP) work perfectly so this is only with corporate email.

Which APK handles the corporate email? Maybe it's not playing nicely since I'm not on the leak? I'm using the moto email btw...

Hey Fab,

One more quick (potential) fix. I fixed my corporate email issues by replacing the new BlurEmailEngine.apk with the old one (I grabbed it from Apex 1.0) and this seems to have fixed the problem. I'll let it run for a few more hours to see if I'm seeing any more problems, but usually they showed up right away.

So, maybe the new BlurEmailEngine.apk has a few bugs or doesn't play nice with 2.3.15 since I'm still on that?

Battery life has been excellent on this rom. I think this is my new favorite rom!!

Would you be willing to post your stats? I'm going on 5 hours and I'm at 50% ... started off the day with a heavy overclock and switched to ULV later.

Just wondering how mine is stacking up

Yeah sure, it was an informal test. Keep in mind I have an extended battery too lol.

I took my phone off the charger at 5:17am went to sleep and woke up around 12:00pm. Only 10% battery was depleted. From 1pm to 3pm heavy/moderate usage (twittering, emailing, market installing, watching a few music vids, streaming audio for a bit, checking greader and playing a few flash vids) it depleted about 20% so I'm sitting at 70% now. It's probably a little less than 20% since I've been on 70% for a bit.

8 hours on standby=10% depleted.
2 hours heavy usage= 15% depleted.
11 hours total=30% battery depleted.

I'm on custom OC kernel settings. 1ghz 52vsl, 750mhz 40vsl, 500mhz 28vsl, 300mhz 26vsl. These voltages are the minimum voltages for my phone without any reboots. I have setcpu profiles for 300mhz standby, 1ghz normal usage, and 750mhz for when my battery reaches 50%.

Normally I run underclocked at 750 (for some reason everything still runs speedily at that speed for me) but figured I'd test out 1ghz for fun and am blown away by the battery life! On rubix my battery would be down 20% after with my phone on standby after 3hrs.

This rom is my favorite so far, best of both worlds. I like the blur messaging app and some of the blur elements. Love the transitions and it runs so smooth!dancedroid

Wow, great find! Thanks for the info!

So what you just grab the apk file from 1.0 then put it on your sd card and copy/overwrite the one already there in the app directory? I haven't even tried to use corporate email yet but probably will need to soon.

Yep... Just grab the BlurEmailEngine.apk from ApeX 1.0 and place it in the root of your SD card. The I used Fabs install script in the terminal:

install BlurEmailEngine.apk

Then reboot (if you already have that apk running it did some funky things until a reboot).

Also make sure that the Messaging.apk is installed and not changed to Messaging.bak (which is default). You can use Root Explorer to change the name.

Little problem. I uninstalled the blurhome app thinking that titanium would store a backup (unfortunately it didn't) I tried reinstalling it via the install command but my blur widgets aren't showing up on adw. What else do I have to do?

just reflash the Rom again, should restore it

That's what I figured, I can just flash over it without wiping right? It won't do anything and I get to keep all my settings?

The only settings you will lose are changes to the /system, such as switching between aosp/blur apps or installing/disabling apps in terminal emulator. It will revert back to the default system apps as well as theme. Just reinstall the zip without wiping anything. The changes you might have to make to get back to where you were are few if you did make any changes at all.
