[ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

What's the solution again if we're receiving and sending two of the same texts? Im not talking about notifications, im actually getting two of the same message. Any help with this is greatly appreciated

I used the small Facebook icon in accounts to try and sync the pics but it loaded ALL my friends from Facebook without the option to just sync just my phone contacts. Now when I deleted that account it now deleted a few of my phone contacts. Anyway to.get.it to work the right way.

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums App

make sure you don't have BOTH messaging apps enabled.

go into terminal, type

su
messaging -mot
messaging -aosp

after that, send yourself a text messaging using a free online service like Free Text Messaging - Send Free Text Messages to Any Provider of SMS Texting. to see if it worked

Anyone know how to get the universal inbox app to show up in apps?? I have multiple email accounts and I can only check my default email (when using the email app (icon)

Thanks

Ok, I know there a a jazillion threads on this, but I'm posting here as Apex is what I'm running and what I want to run. Just can't bring myself to try another ROM when I love this one so much.

I'm currently running: 1.0.2.2 (the 2.3.15 version).

My bootloader is version: 33.03 (I think that is the right number).

I know that TBH released the files to update our phone. So, I guess what I'm looking for is the best way to update my phone, without having to lose much stuff on here. So, this is what I'm thinking... please tell me if I'm correct:

1. Nandroid backup (duh)

2. Titanium Backup of all my apps.

3. Download TBH files and update the phone.

I read that you can update the phone if you run the files in the right order, as released in the thread? Is this correct? (Baseband, Kernel, etc.)

4. Once I update the phone, can I then install the 1.3.0 version of Apex on top of what I have? I'm thinking I will probably have to do a wipe date / cache to get it to work properly.

5. Reinstall my apps using Titanium backup.

Is this plan workable? I would like to try to bring my phone up to date completely (bootloader, kernel, baseband, etc) with the .340 update and then put Apex back on, but at the same time, not having to redownload ALL my apps again and try to spend an hour or two getting my phone setup again.

Or, would I be better off doing a Nandroid back up of my stock Froyo backup and then running the OTA update? Does that update everything?

This is the route I went. No regrets.

Talking out of my ass here... but I have heard if you go TBH you CAN'T come back to the OTA updates. But I could be wrong about that, hopefully someone will chime in and correct me...? Really more of a question here, lol

If you are still on .315 and have a nandroid of your stock froyo that is the route I would go.

And, for the 1,000th time lol, you can totally get back to OTA having run TBH stuff. Multiple threads on it. I did the leak when it first came out and am now on .340 ota with bootloader/kernel/baseband and system all updated to the latest versions.

@nadius

You will lose root when you update to the new OTA so be sure to download the latest z4root apk (1.3) which you can find over at the xda forums since it got pulled from the market. Install it with Astro after you first boot into .340 since Astro does not require root and there you go. I also always let all my apps re-install from the market just because you get fresh updated everything that way. Only takes 20 minutes or so especially if you are on a good wifi connection.

Finally, be aware that any attempt to nandroid back to a .315 restore after doing the OTA will brick your phone so I would delete them all afterwards. I've seen at least a dozen threads since the leak came out where ppl tried or accidentally tried to restore from .320 to .315 and had a nice paperweight until the full sbf came out... Just to be safe, grab the full .320 sbf file and system .340 sbf file from TBH in case something goes awry. Plus you never know when they'll be pulled... If you do somehow brick, run the full .320 sbf to unbrick.
