[ROM] ApeX V2.0.0 Release Candidate (RC2) (6/11/2011)

got the link.... i only had the liberty pro app on my phone cuz i had liberty rom a loooong time ago(im stock 2.3.340 rooted with z4).... i was pokin around and notice they had the .596 i loaded it up and it work fine.... no glitches. i even checked the system info (kernel, build, and system version) it all matched up with what fab requires to have apex rc2 flashed over.... after i flashed over to the gb .596 i check the z4 and i was still rooted... and my other rooted apps were still fully functioning except for clockwork, which i only noticed when i couldnt boot into recovery.... i removed it.... and installed d2bootstrapper and it got me into recovery. loaded up rc2. it says it was installed correctly and i rebooted... i just forgot to wipe. so im gonna try it again. and wipe this time while im in recovery, then install rc2 again. NOW....if it doesnt work.... ill try those links.. i got em saved . thanks man.. ill kepp u posted

Terminal Emulator should be on pre installed with that ROM. I have the tether patch if you want it. It worked well with Apex.

Why would anyone flash to Apex RC2 from v1.4.1 (.340)???????

I came from Apex v1.4.1 and loved it, so ofcourse when RC2 came out for. 596 rooted, I had no reason not to flash! I did all the steps necessary using SBF and eventually got to Apex RC2. Long story short, I gave this ROM 10 days before I was forced back to v1.4.1... for all the reasons listed below:

Battery life sucked!!! (Even after using calibration app and re-doing the ENTIRE ROM install from SBF)
No text-to-speech on keyboard for texting or searching
No real speed difference at all
No Apex Toolbox
No shortcuts from dialer to "send text message" to whatever # you typed in
No more driving voice navigation option in Google Maps!!!
NO MORE WIFI TETHER WITHOUT VERIZON APP INTERFERING! (Maybe charging $$ too)
Apps from "removedapps.zip" would not install through Astro or Titanium Backup
No more cool transitions like in v1.4.1

...im sure this list isn't finished, but even half these things weren't worth it for me to ever keep this ROM! What's the big deal upgrading just to get .596 when you can get the baseband .12P update without upgrading to .596 and keep the wonderful Apex v1.4.1?

Anybody else agree!?!?!?!

I had amazing battery life with Apex. The wifi tether issue you are having is an issue with Gingerbread .596 and can be solved with the TBH tether patch.

Apex speed was fast and its very stable. Only thing I really wanted was the Toolbox. I am sorry you were having issues.

Strange. To mee it seems quite zippy and responsive, and I haven't had any issues with Google maps voice over navigation.
I found battery life to be OK. Not great, and overall just a smidgeon better than stock, but it varies greatly depending on how and where I use it. Subjectively, it seems to me that it dies a lot quicker over 3G alone than stock ever did, (no matter my settings or usage,) but that it lasts a fair bit longer over mixed 3G/Wi-Fi environments.
Objectively, as long as I can get through the day without the phone dying on me, I don't really care if it's at 40% or 15% by the time I'm home, so it's fine.

I'd love to hear how anyone got the tether to work. I have tried without succession multiple times and for days and with no luck. I use this a lot and would love to get it working.

I applied the patch and nothing. Am I doing something wrong??

Installed a clean version of Apex RC2
Installed the TBH patch (3G HotSpot Fix)
Used the settings and hot spot buttons under the settings section of the wireless and connections option.

HELP!
