Actually I should've stayed..(on the gingy) then all I had to do was go to Apex while I waited for the fix..crap..oh well, guess I will do it again after work...

Simon - I think there is something odd about GPS on the new Gingerbread CM7 build....on the one hand, it does appear to be getting my location, on the other, there isn't any icon in the status bar, and GPS Test isn't showing any satellites or GPS signal strength.

At home now, so I can't test it's ability to track my progress in the car or navigate, etc.

Anyone else using the new Gingerbread CM7 build, try GPS Test app to check GPS, or used GPS for tracking movement or navigation. Kind of unclear what's working w/GPS and what isn't for me at this point.

Again, the rom is awesome. Can't wait for a new release. Installed smooth and bootup was a little bit faster on GB.

@Redflea I wonder if you're using wireless networks for location. If its not the selection under location/security settings maybe its the setting when using google search that locating you.

Just to clarify what i m talking about, when you hit the search button on the screen it asks if google search can use locations.

Simon already knows from another post, but GPS definitely isn't working...myself and JCatt both confirmed. Both Google Nav and Maps couldn't find location as well as GPS Test failing. Rev is working on it, along w/the other key bug affecting camera/video capture and video playback.

Does GB CM look the same as the Froyo CM7?

Exactly the same - you can't tell them apart visually.

Yeah, I thought it actually worked as maps seemed to load and nav loaded, however I didn't use my location and that would've been the way to test..oh well...I'm back on froyo but will probably go back in a couple days fixed or not, I know my battery was better as I fell asleep before even messing with it and it was showing 80% forever untill I came back...so thanks simon for the ride along...lol Better with someone to compare bugs. But sorry I fell asleep..lol so now I'm wishing I stayed as I could've checked out a few other tweaks and even flip around apex and zombie..

Cool! I've never heard of that rom before but its awsome to hear about more d2 development! Once you check it out be sure to tell us how it compares to cm7.

This is my jaw dropping rom so far..for me its what I always wanted..fast and fast and fast too! My apps load quick as hell...I love all the settings and still need to check on everything else..just wanted to let all my forum family that this is dorid 2 love! 2.3.5 just how I like it so far!! Be back with update...playtime still and test some stuffs! Lol peace and while I'm testing..flash it!! You won't be sorry..

Hey dude! I'm making a backup of this ssd2 and am going to flash the gingycm7 this afternoon and check it out again..thanks for the update..2.3.5 is making sweet progress all around..and awesome roms as a result..love ssd2 so far..

Didn't you already try cmgb? The video and gps is still nothing working, I just came back to the original Cm7 (build 56). Running great of course. I'll probably try SS today.
