[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

im on nightly #52, if i flash #56 do i have to wipe everything or can i just flash it and it be ok. and is the battery life any better with it? i love the rom but like everyone else says the battery life sucks. i wish they would include the battery fix in the official nightlies. i might have to go back to liberty 2.0.1 if it doesnt get better soon

Just wipe cache and dalvik cache (Dalvik can be found in advanced.) Battery life probably has not improved. They're working on getting CM7 on the GB kernel, that will help battery life. Until the GB kernel version is stable, we likely won't see any improvements in battery.

This is my jaw dropping rom so far..for me its what I always wanted..fast and fast and fast too! My apps load quick as hell...I love all the settings and still need to check on everything else..just wanted to let all my forum family that this is dorid 2 love! 2.3.5 just how I like it so far!! Be back with update...playtime still and test some stuffs! Lol peace and while I'm testing..flash it!! You won't be sorry..:-)

Did you have any FC issues with apps? I kept having FCs with GMail, and ROMManager, and a couple of .process thigs that I can't remember. It was quick though. I also couldn't get the clock to stay away or the battery percentage to go away with Cyanogen settings.

I like the Xperia launcher as for as esthetic, but I would have to play with it to get used to it, I'm an ADW Ex slut for the most part. I may try it again in an updated build, but mine was fairly buggy.

i was really hoping they would get it straightened out for froyo, before moving on to gb i like having wireless tether working reliably, which is the only reason i haven't tried gb on my phone yet. cm7 is awesome though, if a donation would help get the battery fixed id gladly make one, which is the only way id be able to help.

CM7 IS Gingerbread, it's just based on the Froyo kernel for phones like ours with a locked bootloader. I'm not sure if tether would work reliably with the GB kernel or not, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Ok so I just flashed to one of Revs nightlies to see if the battery life is any better. Thing is now I run titanium backup and it thinks I dont have root access. Now Ive heard that CM7 has problems with titanium, but I never had a problem with it before on the officials. I dont really care either way, but how would I go about restoring my aps now?

I ran Rev's unofficial nightlies w/TiBU w/out issue, so there's no direct incompatibility, and have used TiBU to restore apps on nightlies w/out issues using TiBU. Do you have issues w/any other apps that require root?

You can open the Superuser app on your phone and see if Titanium Backup is listed in it. If so select it and select the "Forget" option in the popup, then exit and re-run TiBU and see if it requests root authority successfully.

You could also try the "Problems" button in TiBU which allows you to upgrade superuser.

Also, if you haven't rebooted the phone since initial install, a reboot often fixes many things. I would say try a reboot first, and if it doesn't fix it, try redflea's suggestions.

Ill give those a try.
For now I restored my backup and backed up all my aps with ROM (old liberty) Toolbox. reflashed and I'm restoring them now, dont think it restores data though. So Ill probabaly need Titanium eventually.

Regarding battery life - I was getting great battery life w/Rev's nightly and Juice Defender in Balanced mode...recommend you try that combination.

I can try that, I want to see if I notice a difference with out the Juice Defender first though.

Didn't you already try cmgb? The video and gps is still nothing working, I just came back to the original Cm7 (build 56). Running great of course. I'll probably try SS today.

CM74D2 (1250Mhz-v6 supercharged)

Hey I used the themed ssd2..and I wiped everything..have no issues...iits very fast..make a back up and give it a whirl!!
